THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY

Number One: Cooking // I’ve had to promise myself on a few occasions to not turn my little space on the internet into a foodie site, and whilst I am a fanatic of all things organic and wholesome, looking back a lot of my first photographs as a child from getting disposable cameras I loved to take pictures of my creations, I’ve been the deviant food instagrammer born and bred representing since 1994. I really enjoy the experimental nature that the world has so many variations, methods and food brings everybody together at the table to network and it brings a large grin to my face knowing people enjoy what I make them!

Number Two: Nice Comments //  Since starting this it’s been the most satisfying experience knowing my knowledge has benefited others around me, that others share their story, this website is not just me to vent my thoughts and feelings, it’s also a place for other people to share theirs, I love watching the beginnings of friendships as two bloggers whether myself and a reader or two readers get together and share a brain length. Recently I’ve been getting some extra lovely comments, tweets and emails saying what a fantastic job I have done, and that makes me so very happy! I always appreciate all the kind words typed, all the time people have taken to share their knowledge, they make my world and I just want to say thank you!

Number Three: Appreciating What You Have // If I were to sum myself in a few words, I’d most likely include the word grateful or pleasing along the line. Nothing I have ever done has been taken for granted, I as a thinker, a theoriser, a hopeless day dreamer think constantly of the possibilities what if I wasn’t whom I am, given the choices and decisions I have made in my life time, who i might of turned out to be? and how unfortunately not all of us have those opportunities. The simple things are always the nicest and I like to take a moment to step back from it all, realise what experiences I have gone through to get to this very living moment and how very happy I am to be who I am, what I am doing with the people I want. Yes the grass seems greener on the other side, we all want and desire (and lord knows how many wish lists I will make in my lifetime) but I have a roof over my head, food on the table and the oxygen in my lungs to carry on adventuring.

Number Four: Being Productive //  Does anyone else thrive off knowing they can count with two hands the helpful and useful jobs they’ve achieved that day? Well I do, Miss Compulsive-List-Maker. Do not get me wrong I love my lounge around the house days in slob wear taking a elongated Stay-cation but after a while Jabba The Hutt vibes aren’t pretty and the get up and go Stephi comes in, the side of me that doesn’t sit still, that probably is the reason why I have long term chronic insomnia, (that is both blessing and bloody curse). Ever experienced the sense of being lost after a very long summer holiday, the ‘what now?’ feeling like you’ve hit a brick wall of un-inspiration, keeping your mind and body busy brings me happiness knowing I’m making myself useful to myself or some one in need.

Number Five: Music // I believe somewhere deep down in our DNA is something triggered when music plays, I met a man in a taxi recently who asked me if I liked music, obviously asked if I wanted the radio on, to which I opened up a lengthly novel of a conversation about the beauty behind music, I asked this man if he liked music, he replied no very bluntly… NO? Not a dislike towards a genre, music generally, this shocks me still to this day, as a great lover of most music, this command does not compute. We didn’t speak after this conversation I should add. Music can make me feel anything, be anything and dance from emotion to emotion. It is in every aspect of our lives, music revolutionises and backs up our opinions, fuelling our systems of belief and such a powerful tool can change the world. Nothing excites me more than listening to a fantastic album, an experience of creative outlet, which has now made me start collecting some of my own vinyl, adding it to the boyfriends collection, I would invest my money in a medium that both connotes the preservation of good music and appreciation of artwork inspired by the music. Music is everything.

What makes you happy?
