Today London Fashion Week starts with a bang, cameras set up, clothes steamers at the ready, fashionistas scratching at the gates ready to hit the ground running on the cobbles in their designer shoes. This year I’m covering sunday, my first fashion week I’ve only had this little space for 5 months and already sponsored for LFW (whattttt!), absolutely magical. I’m not a massive beauty guru but I hear ‘fashion’ I see razor sharp cheekbones, and striking makeup, let me show you who I’m wearing this A/W!

For me this year two brands have caught my eye, Clarins and NV. Clarins is spectacular for quality, whilst NV a relatively new brand are amazing for colourful variety and experimentation. Others have come close, I’ve been digging Nars, Elf and Limecrime, but for me these are the real winners that stand tall amongst giants. During Fashion Week I believe the element of surprise is always the showstopper, and I’m not speaking of Pandemonia the plastic love child of Roy Lichtenstein, I talk of striking eyes and eyebrows, shapeful lips and sharp cheeks.

L-R: Taupe, Rose Wood, Sparkle Grey

These are the products I used to create this look:

Clarins// True radiance foundation in Nude*

Clarins// Ombre matte eyeshadow in sparkle grey, rose wood and taupe*

Clarins// Perfect eyes and brow palette*

Clarins// Instant light eye perfecting base*

NV// Bronzer in Fair* (last photo)

NV// Glitter Pot*

Elf// Lipstick in Cheerful Cherry

Eyeko// Alexa Chung Eyeliner

I love how creamy and spreadable Clarin’s eyeshadows were, and Sparkle Grey is a new fave of mine, I wanted a dark grey and brown to go with the monochrome outfit I am going to wear. It wouldn’t be getting colder without applying some bold cat eye, my signature look, it’s fashion week and perfectly acceptable to make that winged eye creep up a bit higher, you are your own statement, do whatever you wish, for me it means big smokey eye!

Another two I never thought I would really get into is the new True Radiance Foundation, I got it in Nude and gives a lovely dewy glow to my face, I also love the smell of this stuff, foundation generically doesn’t smell lovely but this smells very mature and like roses! It gives medium coverage but was quite easy to layer up if need be and stayed on throughout the day without powder touch ups

I liked NV’s bronzer, fashionistas look isn’t complete without contouring, something as an artist I consider myself an expert in, the palette comes with three shades that I use for different tones, and can carry around day to night to darken my makeup if need be. Such a bargain too!

I also see myself as the queen of the eyebrows, I’m fussy when it comes to brands and The Perfect Eyes and Brow palette is really good for a natural look, I personally like mine to stand out more but this gave a nice natural line, and main kudos for the best spooly I’ve ever used for combing!

To top of the look I’ve been really digging Elf’s mineral lipsticks, affordable and comes in a variety of shades (I think I own them all now) I’ve re-bought Cheerful Cherry a few times, it’s a great shade for someone like me who already has insanely red lips and can’t find a lipstick that doesn’t make them lighter. A bold red is a classic, it’s my safe yet somehow daring go-to lip colour

Alternatively you can either dare to bare, or dare to be different. Not everyone wants to make a bold statement, I personally have only adjusted to not wearing eyeliner every so often but some people like to make other features the focal point, if you can do the less-is-more approach good for you, make a natural statement! But there are people like me on the other end of the spectrum who like to jazz things up from time to time, I’ve been experimenting with glitter pots and NV’s is the perfect formula that stick and love/hate that it gets EVERYWHERE! I like everything covered in glitter myself but my black jeans paid the price after taking this photo! This is wonderful stuff to take to festivals, and apply a little when you need some shimmer on your eyes, here I’ve coated my entire eye area to bring some snazziness to my strong look.

I want to wish everyone going this weekend a great time, I’m the happiest girl knowing I’ve been sponsored on my first fashion week and if you can stream a lot of shows straight from the catwalk with the best seat in the house!

What are you most looking forward to this fashion week?
