Make up table// Charity Shop – painted white (similar)
I thought it should be about time since building this room over the past month or so it should be showcased to you guys, I spend a lot of my time conjuring up new fresh ideas and photographing things in here and it certainly screams me from the little touches, from the painted white furniture to the tiny butterflies I scatter.
I’ve never had a full length mirror before and loved this one from MirrorWorld, I always wanted a shabby chic leaner and this was perfect, affordable for a student, quick delivery within a few days, very well packaged and fits the room so well, the embellished frame is simplistic and stylised definitely a bargain and a half! Out of all positivities I must point out one negative thing and that’s the number of mirror selfies that will be flooding my social media now.
I was lurking through Ikea’s catalogue and wanted to get myself a new desk intentionally I set out to get a simple desk with a drawer, standard but when I saw this lovely Cornell desk from Made.com I knew it had to be mine, I’ve realised I don’t do well with storage and only like having a small drawer to throw away some pens and a little snack, a personal fave being Metcalfes Skinny Topcorn! The quality of the desk is strong and sturdy and is larger than I expected it to be which is an absolute bonus!
What I did get from Ikea is this stool and white desk, I wanted some basic studio equipment for portraiture and still life and with my student budget served well, my jewellery sits there when I’m not photographing products!
I love decorating and having personal touches in a room, I’m secretly a little girl at heart and even at 20 love stickers, and photos on the wall, alternatively I utilise polaroid prints of my instagram pictures as a constant source of inspiration, printed.com do a fantastic range as I talk about them here
I’m also loving the quaint and stylish butterflies from Lets Go Hme when I don’t have them scattered I put them on the wall, they bring a feminine touch to the room, I also have this spearmint cushion from them with duck feather padding which I find really important when sitting and editing all day!
I love how this room has come together so far, I can hope things build more and more, the only thing I haven’t included in this post was my lighting as this was used when producing the photographs, and will do a separate post that soon enough. The room is meant to connote fresh, bright and inspirational, which I think it does its job well!
