The 25th of December is a very special day in our house. Every year my parents made my christmas as magical as can be, and as a result I believed in Father Christmas a lot longer than my fellow friends. I think this year marked something a lot more unique than other years, that truly took me back to that wonderful place in my childhood where my eyes sparkled with joy at the sight of presents.
We started our morning like every year, at the crack of dawn. Kettle on, Spotify playlist on. I surprised my family with little aperitifs, something small, I settled on cream cheese, cucumber, and smoked salmon with cracked black pepper and parsley (My fave!) and opened up a bottle of Bucks Fizz. My mum especially made some squishy cushions so we can all gather round to celebrate and open up our presents.
Present wise, we all completely spoilt each other this year. I got a real sense of self satisfaction, I over buy for people in fear that I haven’t got enough and it was a really warming feeling having my first christmas having earned and worked for everyones gifts.

I am so utterly shocked at the sheer quantity of presents I received this year, I adore everyone of them and for anyone reading I give the biggest thank you’s possible for every beautiful present unwrapped. I’m always eternally grateful for everything I receive and end up giving away all my chocolates and treats to others to share some love. My main present was the Go Pro Hero Black 4, this camera is astounding, having experimented with the Go Pro 3 Hero+ Silver it meant the world to get the latest addition to the Go Pro family and kick start some video adventures, perhaps vlogging ooh yay/nay?!
Beyond this present I did not expect anything else and was surprised to find MORE! After opening loads of choccies, lush bath bombs, bubble bars and lovely smellies from The Body Shop and a cute mechanical kitty money box see my instagram video here!, we had to take more tea breaks as we spent a little over three hours trying to get through them all. Since moving out I demanded the essential I wanted was pjs and loe and behold I was surprised with 8 sets of extra fluffy jimmers. To go with my existing collection of DSLR’s my parents also bought me a Polaroid Ring Flash and some extra Polaroid UV/Warming/Cooling/Gradient Filters for my Nikon. To finally top things off which is my after christmas present to come, to mark my successes of college, university and achieving so much over the past few years, I’ll be introducing a new 21″ Imac with Retina Display to my studio, the holy grail of graphic design computers, I cannot stress how much easier life will be with this, and hopefully content can be shelled out quicker meaning MORE POSTS!
My boyfriend got me an array of presents, more than I could of ever asked for, a few weeks earlier being surprised with tickets to see The Who, which completely blew my mind being mere feet away from the gods of music. To open on Christmas Eve & Day I was presented with an array of adorable nightwear, cosey slipper socks, a pair of koala slippers that my parents also bought too! A massive Lush present box with tons of bath bombs, some sweet goodies and my final present was a printed and framed photo of us two, which now resides on my bedside table. I wish I could list every single present I got but this post would probably bore you all, so I’ve left it as my main presents from my immediate loved ones.
For the crucially important and must be discussed part of Christmas Day…the dinner, in our house we celebrated with a 5 bird roast and roast pork, our famous roullard, roasties, stuffing, veggies and all that jazz. Slurped down with Champagne, Prosecco and later in the evening spiced rum and wine with a side of tiramisu. All in all our tummies were more than happy, because no one makes food like our family.
Everyone was so zonked we decided to crash in the living room for the rest of the night, watching movies, and the new Lee Evans DVD. From all the hustle and bustle happening in my life, this day meant the world to me to spend some time with the people I really care about and I got to share some really lovely memories, family means everything and especially at Christmas time I find it very important to keep good company in a snug warm house with yummy hot chocolates.
Overall my Christmas was a massive success, fashion wise I think I hit the right spot, in the morning I wore my festive jumper from The Hut*, the profits all go to Text Santa so I encourage everyone to possibly give as much as they can as it’s such a wonderful cause. On bottoms I wanted something soft and comfy, my South Beach Cutie Pie Bottoms* were pretty snazzy. As for Christmas Dinner wear, I sported Quiz’s latest dress from the Own The Party range*, I’m investing in some more of their partywear I love glitter and metallic and feel they contrast nicely against the pink, but beware of the amount of glitter trails you’ll leave everywhere!
I hope everyone had a magical christmas and a fantastic new year, 2014 has flown by too quickly and at a glance 2015 will be my most exciting adventure yet, let me know what you do at christmas!
