The weather is starting to get warmer and I’ve got summer on the brain, here’s my favourite picks that I’ll be sporting during the hot months!
BEAUTY:
MERMAID HAIR
An accidental switch up of hair colour this past week has had lilac and lavender hair growing on me, I had it years ago and left purple on my roots for 2 minutes to have even my ends tainted. I love pink, but might switch it up month to month, coloured hair is always a summer favourite whether you’re in school or just having some fun there’s plenty of permanent and semi permanent options for your funky summer hair!
FASHION:
THE KIMONO
Festivals are really soon, so why not snap up a fun kimono, I’ve been wearing this velvet embroidered, tasseled and beaded beauty (I know, it epitomises everything a great kimono has!) From Long Tall Sally, it’s such a go-to item, and to stand out in the crowd it makes such a bold statement. It also doubles up as a blanket at night if you’re going out for dinner or having 40 winks inbetween bands.
ACCESSORIES:
MIXED RINGS
If I learnt anything this Fashion Week is that boho is back and in a big way, I’ve always channeled my inner hippy in everything I wear and loved mixing rings, these are all my favourites, including wire wrapped crystals, moon pendants and silver eagles, all relatively inexpensive to get too, you can pick up some killer vintage rings for a few pound a pop, I’m not too big on necklaces as they get in the way when I’m bouncing around and get tangled in my mane of hair but rings can be styled up with a simple little black dress or for the more flamboyant dresser, they’re definitely a staple in my summer and festival bag!
EVENT: READING AND LEEDS FESTIVAL
My festival of choice is definitely Reading & Leeds; I’ve been twice now and it has been brilliant each time. The organisers know what they’re doing! The acts are amazing, the crowd is energetic and the whole atmosphere and experience is second to none! I am looking forward to this year and I’m looking forward to tonight’s big announcement! So far they’ve got some pretty big names on the bill and with whispers around the internet, Zane Lowe’s announcement at 7pm on BBC Radio 1 is not one to miss! Here’s what happened last year! Check out the official Reading site here and the official Leeds site here!
Here’s their playlist of announcements so far to get you excited!
