LFW A/W15 DAY TWO: HEMYCA, JASPER CONRAN, SOOJIN LEE

SATURDAY AT LFW: Jasper Conran

Day two, three shows, and all the colours of the rainbow. I’m seeing slight correlation and perhaps predicting ideas about this years key trends, hints of fur, abstract war time glamor and electric lights.

An odd medium, people walked in and around the models, whilst a fantastic display of electricity filled the pyramid ceiling, the cast of movement against the stationary collection seemed similar to a television of static. The collection had a Italian influenfce against long silk and leather and slight fur, I keep seeing this from design to design and the correlation between fabric to length challenging generic ideas of dress length in a colour palette that reflected the room, cool hints of blue, purple and charcoal with some, but very little red.

Daks was my favourite show of the day. The colours of the entire show, lit up with the vibrant red backdrop lighting, contrasted against silky and cashmere textures, the silhouette seems natural yet chic, moveable whilst still maintaining key shape. The patterns of the fabrics are inspired by the 19th century Japan, all broken up with berry, forest greens and dark chocolates.

Ex-Alexander McQueen associate Soojin Lee showcased her work at Freemasons Fashion Scout, pivoting around the themes of tailoring and 30s feminist glamour. The colour palette of the entire collection was amongst mustard yellows and bright navy. The collection was engaging, as it was wonderful how the beauty of the models was equally as important as the character in the clothing, their hair was tightly fishtail plaited and backcombed tufts on top, a ruffled slept in look in correlation to the silhouettes of the pieces set off a clear love of old glam.

In case you missed any shows, LG have put together a compilation of the days best bits!
