We recently made a trip to Holborns finest restaurant for an indulgence of Central London’s finest Spanish Cuisine, warning contains lots of yummy food!
I love that the whole place is family run, there certainly is a cosy element to the interior which made us feel extremely welcomed. We were seated by the window, near the fresh deli counter, so the smell of yummy goodies was never too far away.
We started on a few beers, whilst we scrolled through the menu, with lots of choice and and especially large Cocas menu (their speciality) we decided to get in a mishmash of dishes, starting with Spanish Meatballs and Galican style Octopus, brave I know but I wasn’t letting my other half turn down one of the most delicious secrets on their menu. The dishes themselves are relatively small but when we order tapas we like to have a few different plates of food to accompany a main, we can then therefore try everyone elses and get more out of our experience.
Next we shared one of their specials, and it certainly was special. We got the Jamón Bellota, Mozzarella and rocket which for me was the highlight, the meat itself was fresh, filling and something very different to what I’ve ever had and insisted I attempt this at home.
Lastly we followed up with chocolate caramel carrot cake with cream and my boyfriend had a mango orange cake, all of our food was served quickly, efficiently and our entire experience was over within an hour.
It’s certainly a fantastic place to bring a few friends for a couple of glasses of wine, a few plates of tapas for a good catch up, the setting seemed very child friendly with a few mums, gathered around. Also if you only want a drink they have a bar with some stools to keep company with the staff, they were so friendly, attentive and overall pleased to see you, which I find important in a service.
The location itself is right in the center of Holborn, Central London and incredibly close to public transport whether you are coming from near or far its certainly worth the trek! Whilst the price range might seem moderate, the quality of the food certainly justifies it, with each small plate coming in at around £5-7 each, which is fair for both location and general chilled atmosphere.
To check out their menu, find them here! and also on their social media (fun fact: if you insta a selfie with their name MasQMenosUK and tag them you can get a free drink) Or go down there yourself at: 68-70 Wardour Street, London W1F 0TB
