MUSIC ON MOTHERS DAY

Reading and Leeds Mothers Day Review

Born into a family of fantastic music taste, we’re constantly looking for new artists, I learnt a lot from my parents generation as their music shaped my life. I set my mum a challenge this Mothers Day as she learns about some of the latest acts around today of my generation, and give back a great gift she gave me!

This is Momma LaReine, as you can spot the vintage band tee, she’s swinged away from ABBA like most mums and went down the punk route, she’s so effortlessly rock’n’roll, bluntly honest and my best friend. She’s the backbone to our close-knit family and has taught me so many things over the years, including my extensive collection of music that no matter who you are, music can find a way to make the world a better place. Believe it or not around my age she had a mohawk, how awesome, there’s no better mum than this one to set a musical task. She will be reviewing 5 songs from 5 bands that are playing Leeds Festival, my favourite of them all!

Reading and Leeds Mothers Day Review Stephi LaReine Mum

Royal Blood // Ten Tonne Skeleton

“Accomplished crafted amazingness from both the bloods that does not disappoint, it’s like being thrown around by machinery, but I love it! Cannot believe there’s only two of them, if Jimmy Page likes them then so do I!”

The Marmozets // Move, Shake and Hide

“Original rock, amazing syncopated vocal, mixed with shredded guitar. Voice reminds me of original punk, Siouxsie Sioux Style. If this doesn’t wake you up in the morning nothing will! What a killer track!”

Metallica // Enter Sandman

“I’m an avid fan of old school Metallica, it’s by far my favourite track, I turned it right up the second I hit play! It’s one of those songs that sweeps you up and engulfs you. Huge dynamics, always imagine an army marching off to war when I hear this!”

Panic At The Disco // The Ballad Of Mona Lisa

“Very melodic, I can hear small aspects of Queen and 30 Seconds To Mars, it’s got that catchy thing going on that I’ll probably won’t shake till next week! Some bands are a bit samey and their collections are so-so PATD have got such diversity”

Jamie T // Zombie

“This is real hip, love the pace! The song is too short, there needs to be more! I like this guy, he knows how to hit the angsty heart strings, definitely gonna give him another listen! Very talented for someone so fresh!”
