LIVERPOOL SOUND CITY DAY THREE

Boho Festival Fashion with Lifestyle Blogger Stephi LaReine wearing all white

The Sunday of Liverpool Sound City had Stanley Dock shaking to the core with outstanding acts, let me walk you through everything from Blossoms to Belle and Sebastian!

Blossoms Main Stage Liverpool Sound City Sunday Day Three 2015

Blossoms North West Band Liverpool Sound City 2015

The afternoon started with Blossoms, sadly missing my moment to interview them which would of been a highlight, I felt the crowd wasn’t as engaged as they should of been (maybe everyone was hungover), an outstanding act, and personal favourite I was overwhelmed to have seen them so close up, the performance itself was refreshing and whilst windy left the band windswept, interesting and by the end had the crowd in the palm of their hand. An interesting bunch of boys with so much talent, keep in the loop with Blossoms!

Bill Ryder Jones Main Stage Liverpool Sound City 2015

Next the forever gobby, yet down to earth Bill Ryder Jones with a light hearted set of with hits including Intersect and Wild Swans. Another Wirralite from ye olde West Kirby (woo!) always a talkative one between sets, but he certainly set me up for the rest of the day and a privilege to hear finally. Go Bill!

Musician Findlay at Liverpool Sound City 2015

Festival Fashion Blogger Stephi LaReine with musician Findlay at Liverpool Sound City 2015I’d been especially excited for Findlay, the lush Jake Marley of Alt Music Box and Gig Slutz introduced me and I’m glad we have the same sense of humor, I rarely see female led acts with such girl power and edge like Findlay, the last I saw that came close was Kate Nash and to me she’s a new, fresh and updated version. Effortlessly cool to chat to, think Chung as a musician (or maybe that’s just what I think) I missed Electric Bones, which still makes me sad but oh well, it only calls for her next set soon and perhaps another gab.

Chilling out at Liverpool Sound City Festival Street Style Stephi LaReine

What I love about festivals like Sound City is the small getaway spots, like this one in the Baltic Stage, at the back was a collection of plants, furniture and urban wall decoration. Festivals shouldn’t forget their roots which is to showcase art in every form, and the design on the festival spared no expense at settings various scenes and corners dedicated for chilling, moshing, or just plain sleeping, there’s something for all.

Houdini Dax Sound City 2015

Houdini Dax @ Sound City 2015

An act which were our find of the weekend were Houdini Dax, front row scoping out the new talent we found these lovely lot, with fantastic taste in shoes, but aside from that they’re a three piece band from Cardiff with an incredible sound, give them a listen on their soundcloud I expect some great things!

Natalie McCool at Sound City 2015

Next was the fabulous Natalie McCool who was (no pun intended) super cool which brought a melodic elegance to the chillier night of sunday at the North Stage I only caught some of her set but she was absolutely brilliant. As we dotted about from Sea Witches on the Kraken Stage and then to Gaz Coombes ex-Supergrass member.

Stephi LaReine Patrick McGuinness Festival Review Day Three Sound City 2015

My boho-esque outfit was a throwback from one of my oldest and most treasured dresses from Asos, channeling Florence Welch and Chloe Noorgard (or that’s what I intended)

One of my favourite elements in my accessories, I love my necklace from Lyla Loves, the multi chain sits so well over the top of anything outfit and is subtle but makes a festival statement, their overall range is perfect for festival go-oers or for styling over the top of a bikini on holiday! Check out their Just In range now. The other favorite element is my Carrera Sunglasses from The Sunglasses Shop, spotted in my Travelodge Trip, adventures to the Ox Pasture Hall in Scaraborough and lunch at the East Arts Village Club.

TucTuc Transportation at Liverpool Sound City 2015

Our hectic night was fueled by Desperados, Heineken and various tuc-tuc rides of which I can guarentee they were all used for the intending reasons of transportation to each stage (and totally not for waving my hand like a Queen and being returned to the same spot to pick up my beer at the bar!)

Belle and Sebastian party on stage 2015 Liverpool Sound City Festival

Belle and Sebestian Liverpool Sound City

Our final two acts of the night were Belle and Sebastian and Peace. My inner instinct told me to see B&S as I’d been dying to see them for the past 5 years whereas I’ve seen Peace 5 times in the past 2 and half years, soon to be 7th by the end of 2015. A massive party erupted on the Main Stage by the end of the set as they gave an impressive, crowd blaring performance that ruptured into the distance of Stanley Docks, I was gob smacked and mesmerized by the charm of the entire band as well as their visuals and small videos between songs.

Peace @ Liverpool Sound City 2015 Day Three

As for Peace, they were the way they’ve been from the day I saw them in Manchester Academy 2 with only 50 in the room. Present. I got to the front mid 1995, one of my personal favourites covers and was on the barrier within 2 minutes of dancing into the warehouse. Harry sporting some fetching trackie bottoms, yes Mr Koisser does what he wants! They blew me away and it was amazing to see their crowds transformation. The only sad thing is my loss of sunglasses (boo!) but I suppose you’ve always gotta give back to the festival gods.

What do you think of these bands, did you go to Sound City or are you planning to go next year?
