BENICASSIM DAY ONE

Benicassim kicked off with a bang, and a fabulous Thursday night line up ahead people were revving to get through the gates into the chaos of fun of Spains best music festival.

We arrived late coming from my 21st birthday dinner and got the last two songs of Swim Deep, loving their pyschedelic vibe mixed with electric whizzes of melody, totally gutted we only got the end.

Next was Clean Bandit, excellent in their performance and got the crowd roaring (as usual) which is astounding to see how far they’ve made it from the previous time I saw them almost a year ago at Leeds Festival. They blew us all away with Rather Be at the end, and left me knackered but wanting more!

It was around this time that we jibbed of Crystal Fighters for a slouch on some beanbags in the VIP area which on a hot sticky summers evening was perfect to kick back, play ping pong and have a ice cold beer. Exploring the festival we noticed how much it had to offer this year as they’ve teamed up with Bearded Kitten to design a Miami themed beach party, playing tunes like Gossip, Phoenix and Foster The People whilst you can go for a sploosh in the padding pools. Effortlessly cool.

If you ever get the chance to go to Benicassim please do try their red wines, and the concept of their wine tours is so economical with the wine being one ticket (or 3 euro) and a euro for a the glass itself which you get back when you hand it back.

Next was the star of my 21st, every time I see her she blows me away time and time again. Florence And The Machine were the Main Stages headliner and 110% efforts were made to prance around the stage like a majestic angel, taking a young girl on the stage to give her a massive hug and waving around a rainbow flag from the audience, prepare for major Flozza spam!
