A few weekends back I invited down some chums for a swinging cocktail party in my yarden whilst Britain can be unpredictable in its ways the weather was in our favor as we celebrated the beginning of summer with Funkin Cocktail.
Fortuntely for me some of my bestest friends are all musicians and make perfect party entertainment, I told everyone to bring an instrument or use one from our vast collection, from the second the cocktails were being poured we knew this was going to be an afternoon of delight.
We started off with a round of Cosmos, half of the crew never having had them before, to my shock I ran to the kitchen to whip up a batch. I’ve been using Funkin Cocktails as they’re perfect for throwing a classy drink together in seconds, merely pour your poison (in this case Vodka) and top it up with their pre-mixed juices made from 100% fruit juice to take out all the nasties of other chemically brands.
Within an hour of settled down we had the fab Emily Ayre singing Lana Del Rey, backed by guitar of Jamie Clague and Callum Carty, tamborine by myself, maracas by my little sister Jess and the drum beat from the wonderful Patrick McGuinness. Musical antics are the best antics.
Me and Guin have been investing in our cocktail making skills having spent a great deal of money on the perfect glasses, strainers, boston shakers and the mad trimmings that come with making a proper cocktail. We thought we’d give Long Island Iced Tea a shot which ended up going down a storm as I was giving everyone tasters from around the world from a Brazilian to a Mojito to Margaritas.
With my busy life right now I barely find the time to sit down and dedicate some time to see some of the best people, and for me nothing is better than lounging around in the sun to some great music and having a fabulous time, my garden party was such a success that I’m going to be the hostess with the mostess more often, it was fun having some naughty kids sweets, sipping fine cocktails and making some lasting memories – for me that’s what summer is all about!
