HANOVER STREET SOCIAL

Hanover Street Social Review and Menu Avocado Prawn Cocktail

We swung round to one of our favourite restaurants in Liverpool for a date night munch, this place has special significance to me and Patrick as our first anniversary meal, and thought it was time to revisit a classic.

Pan Fried Scallops at Hanover Street Social

On a Monday the Hanover Street Social has a special deal of two courses and a bottle of wine for £19.95 which for the quality of the food is a total steal. I’m planning to introduce everyone to this wonderful place, a hidden gem tucked down Hanover Street (duh!) with the coolest vibe in Liverpool and a bouncing atmosphere. Hanover Street Social Menu, Liverpool

For starters I got myself the King prawn and avocado cocktail, freshly prepared and served in a glass. It was immensly creamy from the avocado which made me insanely happy and a great appetiser for the main course, whilst Patrick got pan fried scallops, pea, mint and broad bean salad,
crispy Serrano ham and creme fraiche which looked absolutely delicious. I love food that’s colourful and at the Hanover Street Social all the food is saturated with colour like it is tastes.

Terriyaki Salmon at Hanover Street Social by food blogger Stephi LaReine

Swiftly within 10 minutes of finishing our starter the mains were brought out, we had a lovely lady serving us all night, which to us can make or break a date night. The first night coming here we had an Australian man who was the most polite, funniest guy we’ve ever been served by and made our meal a total delight, so for service expect 11/10!

I had the teriyaki salmon fillet with stir fried pak choi and butternut squash, healthy portions and lots of veggies, whilst Patrick had  roasted Lamb rump with confit sweet potato, courgettes,
green beans, olives and jus.

As I was eating fish I vowed for the South African Cullinan View, Western Cape, Chenin Blanc wine, delicious and super crisp, which I adore in a white.

Rhubarb and Cusatd Creme Brulee at Hanover Street Social dessert menu

We were a tad naughty, despite trying to stay clear from desserts we knew perfectly well how delicious Hanovers sweet menu was. I had the Rhubarb & Custard crème brulée, with ginger snap crumb having had a sweet tooth for  crème brulée as of late, which turned out to be the best I’d ever tried! Patrick had sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce & vanilla ice cream, which he has added that you can never expect anything less than amazing at the Hanover Street Social

So we both can wholeheartedly say that we’re head over heels for this place, and if you’re ever in Liverpool to check it out!
