AUTUMN WINTER SCENTS

The best perfumes of 2015 have been autumn and winter based hands down. I’m excited to be showcasing 2015s best rated perfumes flying on and off the shelves.

Best perfumes of 2015 autumn winter scents

As much as you’ll get me slumped over the Marc Jacobs counter in Harvey Nichols I’ve been trying to spread my wings a bit more. Interestingly enough at an event one of the top perfumers in the country happens to live right next to my house (Coincidence I think not?! This means her house must smell of Chanel No 5!) and she was telling me all about the science behind perfume and the stories they tell, which is something the general public know very little about.

We see scents as ‘oh that smells nice I’ll take that’ when there’s so much more you buy into, like the choice of Eau De Toilette, and Eau De Parfum. French women supposedly prefer Eau De Parfum so they have the enjoyment of re-spritzing and freshening up, whereas people like me like to apply in the morning and let different scents unveil as the chemicals react with my skin. This is the story I’m on about. Let’s talk some of the best scents over this season ahead and going in a few peoples stockings this Christmas!

Gucci Bamboo perfume review 2015

GUCCI BAMBOO

For starters this crystal vase of a perfume bottle looks incredibly luxurious on my desk. Gucci Bamboo is a graceful perfume with strong notes for a modern woman.

It’s characteristics represent confidence and strength with femininity. I personally like that it’s a soft but intense scent, not too overpowering but gripping.

The duality is expressed with strong notes that resonate through the heart and base. Deep Sandalwood, heady Tahitian Vanilla and unique grey Amber accords strike a complementary contrast with the inherent femininity found in exotic floral notes of sensual Casablanca Lily, feminine Orange Blossom and delicate Ylang Ylang.

Lipsy Caged Perfume Review 2015

LIPSY CAGED

The new Lipsy Caged Perfume has just been released this week. The bottle is striking and gorgeous, exquisite in detail which is ideal for every dressing table.

This new scent is addictive and lingers beautifully, combining top notes of Pink Peppercorns, Grapefruit, Gardenia, Tuberose and Freesia through to a core of Lily, Patchouli, Vanilla and Sandalwood. The intense undertones of Amber, Musk and Incense complete the scent, perfect for the glamorous, style conscious girl that epitomises Lipsy.

Ghost Girl Perfume Review

GHOST GIRL

Following up from previous fragrances like Ghost Moonlight and Ghost Whisper Rain (Which I received for Christmas every year without fail!) follows Ghost Girl, a mixture of fruity florals, it’s a rather flirtatious perfume with a union of union or pear, pomegranate, bergamot and raspberry, announcing floral chords of tuberose, almond blossom and orange blossom. The base introduces a warm blend of amber and sandalwood.

I adore the young looking bottle with metallic pink lid and rainbow graffiti – they know how to make a colourful girl happy!

Lush Gorrilla Kerbside Violet Vanillary Review

LUSH GORRILA PERFUME: KERBSIDE & VANILLARY

Every time I pass a Lush as much as the bath bombs are incredibly inviting I rate Lush for their perfume Gorilla, this season introduces Lush Kerbside

I’ve worn this on a few nights out and had people smelling my hair saying it was like delicious Palmer Violets. The scent is fleeting on encounter and a selective personal perfume truly smelt up close. With the aroma of violets it allows breathing to slow down – great for anyone with anxiety! It’s made up of Violet Leaf, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine and Rosewood.

As ever, it’s Lush and Vegan so it’s an ultimate winner!

Whereas the fragrance Lush Vanillary has a contrastive sweeter and sophisticated smell. blended Fair Trade vanilla absolute with tonka and added a hint of jasmine for a reassuring, powdered caramel perfume. Vanillary settles on the skin for a long lasting warmth that is difficult to resist. Layer with Vanilla Dee-Lite lotion and Vanilla Puff dusting powder for the ultimate sweet treat.
