LETS TALK FESTIVAL FASHION

My festival calendar is starting up this week all throughout to September as my summers are filled with music and memories. Let me walk you through the festival style essentials in my wardrobe at the moment to get the perfect boho Glasto ensemble!

Festival Fashion Kimono Fringing Stephi LaReine

My key to keeping my style on fleek for festivals is figuring out what I’m comfortable in, secondly appropriately dressing for the weather, whilst mixing in a few textures and a splash of jewellery.

That’s my formula for festie fashion!

STYLING TASSELS

Whether you’ve been gawping over Coachella like me, packing your things early for Glastonbury or just want to incorporate some young Bohemian style into your wardrobe, the best place to start is tassels.

I find them incredibly easy to style up as tassels are starting to appear on just about everything from bumbags, headdresses, shorts and shoes. They can layer up a basic black dress so even if you want a small amount of western tassels there’s an option for all.

I fell in love with this bag and dress from River Island, they’re doing an exclusive student discount event next week with Student Beans where you can get 20% off from the 27th-29th April – grab it whilst you can!
So getting festival ready is going to be full of bargain buys! I found styling these up to be a breeze and super useful knowing I can carry all my festival essentials around in a secure and stylish bag.

PRINTED KIMONOS

What would festivals be without a kimono eh? I’m slowly but surely building my collection for the summer trying to spread across a range of colours and prints.

My advice would be, go longer, go thicker and invest in good fabrics. This is your protection from the elements and even though kimonos generally don’t have hoods, you can always sling a kagool over the top. My favourite is this open shoulder, split back orange printed kimono from River Island. I’m daring to wear more orange and bring all sorts of cultural inspiration into my wardrobe. It’s a true gem styling up over jeans or a fringed dress like this fringed midi dress

FESTIVAL BOOTS

Yes they’re not exactly the best for charging through the mud, but these boots are great for less mud squelching festivals like Sound City, Festival No 6 and Benicassim. These have been popping out my wardrobe day after day lately, as I’ve favoured a tall croc ankle boot as of late.

Bringing in the bohemian element, these look stunning layered with a long white dress as a purely monochrome croc textured look, or styled up head to toe rainbow.

Wellies are usually preferable if you’re intending on splashing around at Glastonbury, Leeds and Latitude, but kicking around the tent and for the odd few days the sun is beaming out, try out an ankle boot!
