Creating simplistic outfits using high street friendly accessories and quirky bags.
Styling Red and White Stripes
Photos by Jessica Holgate
Summers drawing in soon-ish (although I want it to last forever and ever!) and whilst I’m drawing my mind towards picking out faux fur coats again, I have to squeeze in some summer specials I always wear.
Stripes are a classic, it suits everyone in every colour. You simply cannot beat it.
I’ve noticed red is the colour of my summer, if you scroll back throughout my outfits there’s been a correlation with the start of summer and my consistency to wear red. It’s quite odd.
Todays outfit of the day consists of how to apply classics into your wardrobe with some quirky extras. Throw your fashion rules in the bin and embrace double everything. Double stripes, double spots, whatever your pattern of choice is today will teach you how to style them up in a sophisticated way.
OUTFIT OF THE DAY
Urban Junk Star Kissed Backpack
GAP Red and White Long Sleeve T-Shirt
New Look Espadrilles
ASOS Neckerchief
The one ‘rule’ I’ve learnt is to apply the same patterns with a consistent thought, so this outfit uses similar stripes in small amounts. I styled up a tennis-esque summer dress from GAP overlayed an unbeatable classic red and white striped long sleeve tee. Using that same thought I teamed this simple look with some espadrilles I have from New Look. These shoes hands down have been the most comfortable pair this summer and I’ve been going everywhere in them. I find myself rocking them up from a day on the beach to dinner in the evening, simple and stylish.
I’ve completed my look with a backpack from Urban Junk, I love the lip design on this as a juxtaposition to the rest of the outfit. Also this backpack is cunningly a lot bigger than what you may think. I’ve managed to pack most of my festival gear over the summer into this magical Hermione Granger bag. Yes, me and my wardrobe in this bag, it’s quite miraculous.
Their collection is one of the cutest I’ve seen this season and makes me want to own them all.
Lately I’ve been sporting neck scarves, they’re so easy to style and add an extra level of stylish cool. I got this one from ASOS for an incredibly cheap price, they’re really useful for simplistic outfits.
