An Evening With Rolex
Goldsmiths invited us down to ogle over the newest watches from Rolex. An utter pinch me moment. It’s recent launch in Paradise Palace in Liverpool One has opened its doors to a new section for the luxury brand Rolex. Champagne, canapés and a special DJ set from Funk and Soul (and Red Dwarf obviously) star Craig Charles. Me and Patrick had the opportunity of trying out watches oozing with dazzle we had to sit down. Our drinks were sponsored by The Alchemist where we drank the equivalent of liquid gold, and served macarons – my absolute guilty pleasure. An overall luxe night where we celebrated the arrival of Rolex into Goldsmiths Liverpool.

The evening was populated with local press, celebrities and global sports heroes all seeking out the best of what the brand was to offer with prices ranging from £5,000 to £90,000. My personal favourite was diamond and ruby encrusted watch with roman numerals. Whilst being out of most peoples price brackets, a Rolex watch is an investment piece that offers great exchange value if owned over the years. Rolex pride themselves on not just being the best watch brand, but the best brand for it’s authentication of their origins. Rolex throughout the years has remained timeless, luxurious and crafted with detail. A fun fact I learnt is that all Rolex watches are waterproof and their larger minutes hand, as they call it “Mercedes hand” is for deep sea diving. So their watches are both functional, beautiful and practical.
