Christmas Soul Soothers at Verdant, Liverpool
Let’s chat luxury dining, and how over the Christmas period we’re hitting up hot restaurants in Liverpool. As much as we’re all snuggled up watching Christmas movies with a blanket, it’s also time to celebrate with work Christmas parties and clink glasses to another year ending. Verdant in Liverpool hosted us for a night of fine dining and drinks. It’s the perfect place in which a date night or squad meal is ideal, with food to soothe the winter soul and a gorgeous setting with hanging florals, and tables decorated with bird cages. It ranks high on the cute factor, indulging in a white wash of exquisite flowers and ambient lighting – a touch of luxury for every Liverpool girl to melt over!
Verdant is bringing back class and sophistication to a dining experience that’s romanticised for all. It’s the only the only bar and restaurant serving the renowned AU Vodka that is filtered five times through gold – a key component of purification, for a smoother taste.
Allerton is famous for its stretch of popular dining venues, and Verdant offers a special experience to breathe new life into this popular part of town.
Starters
Sat over candlelight, sipping a glass of Rose we ordered in our starters whilst a complimentary Cauliflower soup wete our appetites as we browsed through the delicious Al A Carte menu. Service is always with a smile in Verdant, the girls who looked after us were funny, gorgeous and shining with delight throughout our meal, top ups are flowing in this gorgeous setting – frankly we didn’t want to leave!
To start off we ordered in some Diver Scallops, that are seared with Tuna, Wild Mushroom, Ginger and Coriander Syrup. As well as Salmon Verdant. A home cured salmon, hot smoked pate, salmon tuille, caviar and vibrant Wirral herbs. Two dishes designed to be light, refreshing and blooming with taste.
Mains
For our mains we vouched for A plate of Wild Halibut, accompanied with vegetables, girroles, saffron potato and fish sauce. Naturally in the run up to Christmas we were urging for hearty potato so ordered in chunky triple cooked chips.
Paddy went for Apple Pork Belly (jealous that I didn’t try it!) but it was gone within minutes – the true sign if the food is delicious. It was served with black pudding, apple, shallot and vanilla.
Desserts
For our final course, we decided on a Hot Chocolate Bomb with fondant, berries, French Cream and Viennese wafers. A melt in the mouth chocolate delight that’s opened up with the French cream. We also got a raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake – the way to any womens heart frankly! Their deserts were filling but not overwhelming. We stayed for a final few drinks and agreed Verdant is a must on our list of restaurants to head back to ASAP!
Verdant has definitely one of my favourite hot spots in town now, check our their new Christmas menu and their story.
