Ladies Day: Stampede For Style in St Johns

Liverpool’s finest fillies have been stampeding for champagne coloured dresses, fake tan, fluttering fake eyelashes and ‘stiletto’ shaped nails in the run up to Aintree Ladies Day in 2017, according to the city’s go to centre for style.
St Johns Shopping Centre has been inundated with glamorous girls from across the city region seeking out body con dresses, chainmail tops and palazzo pants in preparation for their catwalk in front of the world’s media at Aintree Racecourse this Friday (April 7).

Independent retailer Kiss has reported an up-turn in sales in the nude-come-beige colour of ‘Champagne’, while fellow indie KoKo has had sell out success with their figure hugging bodycon styles.
Everyone’s favourite £4.99 (RRP) fake tan St Moritz has also been flying off the shelves at Wilkos and Bodycare with an estimated 500 gallons of the product being sold in the six week run up to the big day.

Nail Express have been filing their clients’ acrylic nails in ‘stiletto’ and ‘coffin’ shapes for the past week and queues are expected along the mall for curly blow-drys at Supercuts throughout the three-day Randox Health Grand National Festival.
Rob Bradley, centre manager for St Johns said the centre has seen a week-on-week increase in footfall and attributes it to the excitement around the ‘style stakes’ for Aintree’s famous ‘Best Dressed’ style award.
“We know how glamorous the girls are in Liverpool and how much pride they take in their appearance,” said Rob, “they set trends all around the country and we are proud that our retailers can help them feel like the ‘finest fillies’ for Ladies Day!”

Racegoers can not only enjoy a breakfast at one of the centre’s many restaurants in preparation for their party day ahead, but they can also take advantage of a free photo booth ‘Glam Cam’ experience in the centre from 9am-1pm, on Friday (April 7), which includes a free photo to take away.
Rob added: “We always get a good crowd of racegoers at the centre, filling up on food before they head off to the racecourse.
“This is a huge event in the glam calendar for the city and we are looking forward to seeing the glam ladies in the centre on Friday in front of our ‘Glam Cam’. And we wish all our customers the best of luck in both the style and race stakes this week!”
