The British Style Collective Highlights 2017
The Best Of Liverpools Fashion Takeover
Liverpool was recently invaded by The British Style Collective (formerly known as The Clothes Show) and I was privileged enough to work with them throughout the months, being a head blogger and social media takeover hostess. You might have seen me over on their Instagram Story chatting in the dressing rooms of models and acts that starred in the big show in the Echo Arena. The weekend saw thousands flock to get a taste of the latest trends, rub elbows with celebrities. I had so many of you wonderful readers coming up to me asking for fashion advice, photos and I got the chance to sit down with a large amount of you to talk through what I’ve been getting up to. Todays post highlights the catwalk shows that were a must-see of upcoming design, as well as the key speakers who appeared in various locations around Liverpool.

Catwalks at BSC
Edeline Lee showcased a sports luxe collection, complimenting the emoji realm with a nod to latest trends such as gingham, and blinded up football socks, using a fun pastelised colour palette utilising themes of tennis inspirations. My favourite pieces included drop hem dresses in gingham and bold stripes.
Liverpools own David Ferreira who has previously worked with iconic fashionistas like Iris Van Herpen, Giles Deacon and Meadham Kirchhoff. His collections emcompass the perfect symbiosis between, traditional and modernity. This collection being no different displaying flamboyance of ruffles, neon brights and strong yet romanticised silhouettes with fur line trims.
Key Speakers
Speakers this year saw Sabina Emrit from Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Glamour Magazine and Conde Nast Traveller talking women now and the power of fashion. Andrew Collinge speaking about modern day hair and how you can implement the latest trends into your haircare. Caroline Jones sitting on the sofa to talk about dressing for success. Gary McQueen spoke of the next chapter for fashion.
Celebrities
Nationwide celebrities flew in to get a glimpse of what the recent takeover of Liverpool was about. The large show was hosted by Kimberly Walsh as well as Mollie King. Walking around each venue was hotshot designers like Henry Holland, TV presenter Lisa Snowden, Lucy Watson and many many more!
British Style Collective Shopping
On my walk around the shopping centre in the Exhibition Centre next to the Echo Arena, I found endless possibilities of entertainment – whether that was muscle men covered in glitter, or opportunities to have a sopshistacted Liverpool Gin in the bubble lounge. Some of my favourite stalls were Jacksons Fashion, Mark Hill hairdressing and Miss Pap. Naturally I had to have a Victoria Secret moment with a pair of angel wings.
Some of my favourite goodies I brought home from the weekend was an Alcatel LED phone, Nanshy Makeup Brushes, Mark Hill hair curlers, a huge bag full of Body Shop products, as well as my favourite new velvet bikini from Bare Soul Apparel.
NYL Restaurant & Bar Fashion Afternoon Tea
We were treated for a deluxe fashionista afternoon filled with cakes and sandwiches in the shapes of handbags and shoes. It’s a truly gourmet experience in a beautifully glamorous atmosphere of the grand building of NYL. The Fashion Afternoon Tea comes a ridiculously affordable price, for the taste of luxury, being £17.50, whilst extras like prosecco is £20 or Liverpool Gin/Vodka is £22. Even though it’s not British Style Collective season anymore, there should be no stopping the lush experiences so head over to NYL for a afternoon delight. It includes sweet treats of scones with clotted cream and jam, homemade shortbread dresses and handbag biscuits, chocolate fudge brownie stiletto and macaroons, plus open sandwiches of crab and garlic aioli, chicken and bacon, egg and watercress and NY Deli pastrami and pickle. We were also recommended the Gin Lolly, a tipple for true lovers of gin and summer vibes. Me and Dom of Monique Blogs had an afternoon of laughter in pre-British Style Collective fun, running around events around the city taking in the city takeover as a VIP.
See you all next year for more fashionista fun!
