New Menus and Neon Signs

Whats The Deal On The New Menu?
So Love Thy Neighbour has introduced a selection of new small and large plates to their menu. Everything from salted baked beetroot to pearl barley risotto. Don’t beat it till you try it! We went for the smoked salmon, dill with orange dressing and charred tenderstem broccoli – which was absolute heaven, exactly what I was craving at that exact second. Naturally whenever I go to Love Thy Neighbour the gin and tonic are already being poured the second I stroll through the door, they know each and every time that it’s my first calling in there. Whilst Paddy tucked in to roasted heritage carrots, with wilted carrot tops, pistachio, agave, cumin and topped with tahini. I found myself oggling his plate as I always seem to. His drink of choice is always a beer, so he went for the Beavertown Gamma Ray American Pale Ale. The cans are ridiculously rad, and a nod to Mars Attacks.
We moved onto our mains, and seriously didn’t anticipate just how stuffed we’d slowly become, as the food is incredibly filling! I munched down on the new menu selection of pearl barley risotto, red and golden beetroots, goats cheese sprinkled with crispy kale. A truly incredible dish! Naturally when I see halloumi fries on the menu, there’s always going to be a side of that and they were the perfect cheat dish, healthy and incredibly indulgent. I was recommended to try the Long Island Iced Tea, one of my favourite cocktails which they brought over super quickly, and it was finished almost as quick. Not many places in my opinion quite nail the Long Island Iced Tea, but Love Thy Neighbour truly got it spot on. Paddy went for the Tortilla Bun Burger, compiling of lean steak burger, smoked garlic aioli, fairground onions and avocado salsa. I’ve never seen him in our four and half years together not finish a burger due to being too stuffed and looking genuinely upset. Which means we’ll need to go back and try another one!

Finally after some much needed down-time and intake of breath from stuffing our faces with ridiculously healthy food, we dived into the desert menu on the wall and went for the pistachio and walnut cake to share. Paddy was intrigued by the charcoal activated latte, called The Black Velvet. I’m completely off caffeine but I took a slurp as it had a gorgeous palma violets colour and wondered if it tasted as good as it looks – spoiler, it did!
I’m always a regular in Love Thy Neighbour, as I just fall in love with the place more by the day, and it’s definitely become my hot spot of Bold Street which you’ll always find me wandering down on a regular basis.
