[dropcap]I[/dropcap] love grand architecture and the simple sophistication that speaks a thousand words. That’s why I come back to the Aloft Hotel time and time again. Today I wanted to discuss my stay recently that was in correlation to one of my best friends surprise birthday parties. The Aloft is based on North John Street, so where the height of Liverpudlian life is, being a short walk away from Matthew Street, which means dinner and a show is merely 3 minutes between 5 star dining and The Cavern – my idea of heaven personally! It’s a contemporary city centre hotel that oozes character at every corner from the Grade listed II building that is both mixed with history and modernity. A sight to truly behold, and it also makes a dazzling place to dine at night, with the Aloft hosting a series of events including the Aloft Star which I’ll be attending. Book your stay at the hotel here.

Staying At The Aloft
I’ve heard time and time again from various people that the rooms are mega dreamy, that a captivating view overlooking most of Liverpool in one window frame was physically possible. I’ve stayed in hotels with heavenly views but having a huge sense of home-pride overwhelmed all the others. I could see over to St Georges Hall, the Radio City tower and various other sightseeing points of town. Making it an super romantic view that should be enjoyed on the window seat over a glass of bubbly with someone special. I decided to set myself up and start on some work, whilst channel hopping, sightseeing out the window and got myself far too comfortable. Everything I needed was practically within arms reach – but I did actually have to leave in the end to set up my friends surprise birthday party. But when I returned I don’t think I’d ever slept so soundly, I slept through breakfast (oops) and all the way through my alarms which I never ever do! I blame the beds, they’re too cushy and lush for me to make excuses really.

Wining & Dining
I try to head to their in-house restaurant NYL as much as I can, having tried out their fashion afternoon tea throughout my adventures of The British Style Collective. They’ve recently just brought out another afternoon tea, which I’ll keep everyone updated on. But I really do highly recommend heading to NYL for dinner, it’s the perfect date setting whilst you’re sipping on a winter negroni or splashing out on a bottle of Moet. I frequently spot Liverpool A-Listers whilst having dinner so it’s well established in that it’s for anyone at all.
