The Pullman surprised me when I came up to my room with a beautifully hand written note in line with the night skyline. You won’t get views anywhere like it. From one picturesque window is the Liverpool Eye, and the other sweeping views of the Mersey. Absolutely perfect. I munched on a few Yellow Submarine sweets, pounced into an outfit and bailed myself downstairs fashionably late for dinner to try out the new Marco Pierre White menus. Super modern, stylish and sophisticated in its decor, with tinted windows to see outward to the Echo arena.
So we started off our evening with a bottle of white, chilling away in a bucket whilst we browsed the varied menus. I opted for the mac & cheese and red mullet – which has become my favourite fish dish ever! Whilst Paddy chose Quail eggs, and fish & chips for his main – you can’t take a man away from one of his favourites. It was all freshly prepared, and seasoned beautifully. I’m determined to bring more of my meetings to the Pullman as it overlooks stunning views, and is a lovely quiet place to retreat amongst the city.
Finally for dessert tiramisu and ice cream happened, it put the most beaming smile on my face – one that hasn’t wiped off, as I’m constantly in the mood for tiramisu nowadays.
Seafood for the soul
After a delicious dinner we retreated to the bar, both modern and relaxing. It was a grand sight, as the Christmas tree was up and lighting up the entire place. Overall a wonderful stay, and one I’d do a million times over. Especially with having breakfast in bed with all the trimmings. Paddy unfortunately had to dash off early in the morning for work, but me however I got to see the sun rise all over Liverpool from one of the best angles of seeing it all. It made me wish that every morning could have started this way.
