[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]our feeds have no doubt been festered by the news of London Fashion Week, so this year I made a bold decision to watch all my favourite catwalks online due to my busy schedule. So even though I wasn’t there in person this season to give you all the latest and greatest trend round ups over on my Instagram stories. I have however compiled the best designers, routed through the trends that I believe will be making the biggest impact, and trickling down into high street stores in no time. Brands will be busy at work, so aside from reading your highlights here, keep a watchful eye over on key brands you adore to see how they recipricate those in their own style.

Rainbows

The numero uno trend that has been the talk on everyone’s lips is the rainbow trend – something I’ve portrayed for years and wholeheartedly believe everyone needs once in a while. As Iris Apfel said ‘Life is grey and dull, you might as well have a little fun when you dress.

So to roundup the best of the rainbow we’ve seen this year at Fashion Week, Ashish in my eyes created the most ready to wear collection of the season with tinsel foils, highly embellished sequin florals to tie in the intricate patterns of spring and summer. So it’s certain to see that floral street will be the way we’ll all eventually be heading down.

Whilst the other celebration of kaleidoscopic colour that saw us all drop to the floor in awe, was Burberry. Mixing up their classic check print with rainbow hues. As well as showcasing a stunning rainbow laser show which celebrated LGBT+ youth. So we saw from the livestreams baseball caps, puffer jackets in vivid shades like the Pantone Colour of the Year Ultraviolet, sunshine yellows and grassy greens.

 Fluffy Shoes

Shaggy shoes will be everywhere. So when you thought the fluffy toe heel was being put to bet, you can bet your bottom dollar that they’ll be flying out of the shops once again.
We saw Burberry walking silver tinsel, whilst Simone Rocha channeled the pointed toe in ode to her trademark shoe that is commonly seen. With fluff being all the rage seen on brogues, thigh high boots and trainers. I’m immediately running towards a pair of Preen’s latest to make my flamboyant trademark pointed boots all the more lush.
Ashley Williams – my personal go to favourite designer also was all aboard the fluffy trotters trend with sliders with a nod to millennial slogans. Something we’ve recently been seeing all throughout the favourite forecast that is simply not going anyway, nor do you need me to tell you slogans are here to stay for another year.

Sporty Stripes

It hasn’t been a long while since we saw the resurgence of the 90s shell suit, including it’s proceeded adaptions throughout the years in hope that sports luxe will come back. It’s been on the forefront of most high street designers, but never a huge talking point until know at London Fashion Week. Cast your minds back to Kevin and Perry and pop them on the catwalks. Bucket hats, collarless zipper jackets and loose comfortable trousers with a statement shoe will be seen everywhere with the as expected sports racing stripe. Both flattering in cut, versatile amongst other fabrics, and frequently seen on the catwalks in alternative layering of short sleeve and long sleeves. House Of Holland, beautifully showcased the use of sports stripes with contrast piping adding a pop of saturated colour to simplistic colour blocking.

Suit You Madam

Oh I am in awe over this. All I could think of was the many ways that every store will be replicating these gorgeous ornate designs. In an edit that can only be juxtaposition to the “Suit you sir” sketch.  We see House Of Holland on the left channeling a tartan-esque print. Peter Pillotto with romantic sherbet silks, adding a glamorous twist on a workwear trend that we keep seeing throughout the years. With casual movement, these swept down the catwalk as my favourite piece of the entire season. Temperley inspired many of us to go back to the 70s in a vivd print that reminds of The Magic Roundabout, idyllic for any retro lady ready to boogie.  Finally a changeover from my favourite loose cut suits to a very structured bodice from Mary Katrantzou, almost Tudor-esque with goddess cinched waist silhouettes. Sporting larger shoulders, something we’ve commonly seen all across New York Fashion Week.
