Liverpool will always be the focus point of art, music, entertainment. We’ve been consistently blowing people’s socks off for decades, and just when you think a city doesn’t have anything more to give to it’s beloved people – there’s a secret bar, the hideaway for local celebrities, those who wish to wander and explore into the VIP section of town to indulge in a quality cocktail or five. You may or may not have heard about the elaborate phonebox bar that is Ex Directory, known only to few who have successfully found its entrance. So today I’ll be talking you through Liverpools best kept secret, and clues on how to find it for your next soiree.

A Unique Cocktail Experience

With all the fun of the funfair with candyfloss cocktails, and table service for the stars Ex Directory is the hip and happening place for your after work tipple, private celebration or romantic date night. The staff are unbelievably friendly, those who guarantee that your night in Liverpool is both unforgettable and as unique as it gets. The phonebox is only an element of the venue, and something that could deter people from coming in. So I’m here to reveal that you’ll find it just off Dale Street, head inside and pick up the phone to enter. Due to its popularity it gets booked up very quickly by the local heroes, so always book in advance!

The tipples of choice are endless with skilled bar staff flipping cups and fire around to make your cocktail both delicious, and entertaining. We started off our evening with prosecco and gin served in a disco ball and sparks flying around our table as we started the party. Eventually moving onto espresso martinis, candy floss cocktails, spiced old fashioned, and tailing off our evening with a G&T before close. It’s hands down been one of the best nights out I’ve had in ages, simply because it was a private retreat, and felt both secretive and intimate. Why would I want to be anywhere else when I can stuff my face with popcorn, candy floss, whilst having a boogie to my favourite playlist.

Cult Cinema Nights

So word has it, that they’ll be moving onto cult cinema nights, starting from 21st February. Starting out with The Big Lebowski, as the staff are brushing up on their White Russians to make the experience immersive and fun for everyone.
