[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e had the pleasure and priviledge of staying at Chicheley Hall on one of our road trip adventures down south. The beautiful elegance and sophistication of Chicheley Hall is overwhelming to say the least, with peacocks upon entrance as you escape to a bubble of greenery and fine dining. Chicheley Hall resides in a 18th century mansion in Buckinghamshire with baroque interior and a very interesting layout for a hall. Todays post will walk and talk you through the experience we had on one of our latest journeys and our recommendations when around the area.
The Stephi & Paddy Adventures Of Buckinghamshire
Exploring the area
Chicheley Hall is most famously known as being one of the top destinations and venues for having a grand wedding. It embodies old tastes and Georgian classic decor. The high ceilings, attention to detail amongst room to room and it’s 5 star service is only a handful of reasons why this venue is constantly booked up.
On our journey around the area, we stopped off in Milton Keynes to explore Xscape, a brilliant place that under one roof you head off to do skydiving, indoor skiing, snowboarding and sledging. However as we impulsively drove to Xscape we didn’t think to pack any thermals. However we did want to explore Hollywood Bowl, with it’s retro 50’s aesthetic and supporting arcade. Most of the afternoon was spent on the arcade machines and giggling our heads off. Then moving onto Mexican food and margaritas, because there is always time for a margarita.

Finally, we got back to unpack, as we were totally in awe of our room. We were booked the honeymoon suite, which has majorly rivalled every room within my experience of being a travel blogger, taking up most of the room of our house. An abundance of delicate drapery, soft linen and a view overlooking the grounds of Chicheley Hall. I found myself lying on the bed for most of my duration in that room as there were no words to describe how fantastic the mattress was. Perfection, perhaps? It was bliss and luxury fused into one stay.
Wining & Dining
After freshening up, having a drink in their beautiful bar, and checking out the array of board games stationed in the library we sauntered down for dinner in their dining room. Treating ourselves to start with tempura prawns, and tart. For mains we moved onto chicken dauphinoise and fish and chips (absolute favourite of Paddys when cooked well!) and finally to finish we ended on the crescendo of blueberry cheesecake and chocolate cake. The food as the French say C’est Magnifique, as we gazed over the courtyard and gardens as the sun dipped. A truly bodacious experience knowing we were in a sanctuary of nature surrounding.
Finally we sauntered back to the bar for a late night tipple and natter with the bar staff, and noticed their exquisite variation of gins and gin recipes laying around the bar. It’s fair to say that I wish I spotted this before as I always indulge myself in a local gin wherever I may reside.
The Best Hotel Breakfast I’ve Ever Had
You’re all very much so aware of how often I stay in hotels, and I can hands down say this was the best hotel breakfast I ever had. There’s just something about being in a rural place, where the food is all locally sourced and cooked to perfection that really revs up the morning and thus the rest of the day. Treating ourselves to a full English in the quiet breakfast room as we chatted about the rest of our journey and how much I’d love to see the peacocks again – because there simply isn’t enough of them nearby us at home. Naturally wherever we go we always check the previous reviews, and the one outstanding aspect that kept cropping up was the love of the breakfast – that certainly would put a smile on anyone’s face who loves to indulge in a brilliantly cooked breakfast. I do condone you try it.
