Research Where You Are Going

Before you book your trip, you will want to do plenty of research on the locations that you will be visiting on your vacation. Look at all the potential hotel options and do not forget to look at these on a map. By doing this, you can choose accommodation that is centrally located and avoid having to wander down dark or deserted streets to get back to your hotel. There are many tranquil Bali villas that you can also choose from if you prefer this type of accommodation option over that of a hotel. There will also be plenty of space then so that you may have friends joining you. Some areas are safer than others so look at some of the different travel forums and ask other female travellers that have visited there before for the safest places to stay.

When you can converse with the locals, it always makes visiting a foreign country much easier to cope with when travelling. There are many phrase books that you can pick up to help you translate on your visit to Bali, and there are also applications that you can download which will translate from English to Balinese. Trying to speak the local language may also entice the locals to be more accommodating, although they may laugh at how you pronounce some of the words.

Always Let People Know Your Plans

If you are travelling solo, then it is essential that you always let someone know where you are going and what time you are expected to return. You can even arrange with a friend at home to check in with them at a specific time and let them know that everything is okay. With modern smartphones, it is easy to send a quick message to check in and let people know that you are okay.

When you are visiting a bar or a club, always make sure that you do not leave your drink unattended. Not just in Bali, but all over the world, there are cases when people will try to slip something into the drinks of unsuspecting people often with bad intentions. It is also critical that you keep your wits about you and although you can have fun, make sure that you are in a fit state to get yourself back to your accommodation safely.

Bali is considered a safe place for all visitors, including solo female travellers, but just as in anywhere in the world, it is always best to be careful and pay attention to your surroundings. We often let our guard down when on holiday which is when bad things can happen. Enjoy yourself but remain safe and you will have a wonderful trip to this quality Indonesian resort that will see you want to go back for more.
