The National Gallery is at the heart of Trafalgar Square, It was opened up in the year 1824 and it has been refreshed throughout the centuries. Strategic purchases have been made and there have even been a ton of donations made by aristocrats too. When you visit the National Gallery, you will see art from Leonardo Da Vinci, Monet and even Botticelli too.

National History Museum

At the National History Museum, you will see that there are skeletons, fossils and so much more. You can also see expert talks that are held at the Darwin Centre, so this is great if you have a keen interest in history. Of course, Dippy isn’t there anymore but you will still be able to see the skeleton of a 25-meter blue whale. This was originally found near Wexford and it is an amazing sight to say the least. Of course, the museum is often open to school trips so if you want to make the most out of your visit then you do have to make sure that you visit later on in the day. You can then visit Broadway London if you want.

This is one of the nicest museums in London. The best thing about it is that it is right next to the National History Museum. It is packed full of Islamic art and it even has the Tipu Tiger too. This museum has a ton of exhibitions and some of them you will have to pay for, but that being said, they are well worth the money and you would be surprised at how amazing some of the sights are.

V&A

Science Museum

The Science Museum is home to the Puffing Billy. This is the oldest steam locomotive in the world, so it is a must-see for anyone who has a keen interest in railways and trains. You also have Stephenson’s Rocket as well. This is a working example of the Charles Babbage engine and there is even an Imax cinema. This is one of the best museums for kids and it is packed full of things to do. One great thing about this museum is that it is full of interactive stands, so you can learn about science while also having a very hands-on experience.

This actually used to be a former power station. It is one of the most visited museums in the UK and it is packed full of paintings and art from Rothko, Picasso, Miro and even Roy Lichtenstein. They are all grouped thematically, and it has plenty of exhibition space. The power station crane was once housed in the open lobby and if you want to go and see some of the bigger exhibitions then it won’t cost you too much either. This is ideal if you want to keep your budget free for other days.
