The must-see sights

It is worth considering where you want to go and what you want to see whilst you are in Barcelona. This should form part of your itinerary and will be completely tailored to your interests. You might have young children and want to share with them fun at Barcelona zoo. You might be a football fan and wish to take a trip to Camp Nou, the home of FC Barcelona and the venue where Lionel Messi weaves his magic. You could head to the Gothic Quarter for history, architecture and a dose of spirituality. And you simply cannot visit Barcelona and not make your way to the Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi’s masterpiece and possibly Barcelona’s most famous attraction. At nightime, along with enjoying the city’s nightlife, do try to take a trip to the Magic Fountain to see its light and water show.

Probably the most famous street in barcelona for shopping is La Rambla, which hosts the biggest market in Catalonia, the Mercat de la Boqueria. It will be bursting with beautiful sights, colourful fruits, aromatic spices and breads and bakes guaranteed to tempt you. If you are looking for designer and high-end shopping, then play a visit to luxurious Passeig de Gracia  where you will find names such as Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Armani and many more.

The Shopping

The food

When you are in a new city, it can be difficult to know where is best to eat. You might want to take in local delicacies, find hidden treasures, or simply refuel so that you can carry on with your sightseeing. Whatever your preference and motivation, check out good restaurant guides before travelling so that you don’t waste precious time trying to decide where to eat. This should also ensure that you are really only tasting the very best that the city has to offer you, further enriching your trip.
