Summer this year will, of course, be very different to what people are used to due to the pandemic. As you would expect, there is already a surge in domestic travel bookings since the easing of lockdown restrictions as people look to get away and enjoy some time away from home after what has been an incredibly difficult few months. Fortunately, the UK is breathtakingly beautiful and there are lots of good options that people are now realising. Travel experts have said “whether people are concerned about health, the hassle or the increased cost has meant people will turn more to the UK as a preferred destination”.

Surge in Domestic Bookings

Caravan/Holiday Home Ownership

Interestingly, there has been a sharp increase in demand for caravan/holiday home ownership with an increase of 18% in caravan advert views. This is perfect for this summer as it allows people to still keep their distance and remain safe, but it could also be a good option going forward because it provides the option for owners to enjoy multiple short breaks throughout the year as opposed to just one longer vacation each year and the hassle of having to travel overseas.

For those that opt for a caravan/holiday home, there are many excellent places to choose from which will be perfect for a relaxing summer holiday. Some providers have beautiful, friendly and welcoming parks containing comfortable static caravans and lodges along the south-east and south coast which can be lovely places for a summer holiday or at any other time during the year with places like Devon, Dorset, Sussex and Kent all being particularly nice.

After a very difficult start to the year, it is important that people are able to enjoy a holiday this summer and the UK can actually be the perfect place for this both this summer and going forward. A staycation can be much safer, easier and more affordable and there are many stunning places that will be perfect for relaxing and recharging this summer.
