You can wrap them with PVC or safety cables. We understand that you may not like how it looks in your home, but your pets will be safer this way.

You can use this to your benefit by coating all your electrical cords around the house with a pet deterrent chemical. If that sounds like stress to you, you can buy a pet deterrent spray and spray all your electrical wires to bar them from gnawing. You may be wondering how safe the chemicals are, and we can assure you that they are.

Don’t keep too many wires to lose to each other.

The amount of attention that dazzling lights demand makes it easier for your pet to play with them. Consider turning off your Christmas lights or any other flashy lights you have before heading out to avoid this altogether.

Furthermore, it would help if you tried not to leave too many wires close together. This cluster of cables is yet another attraction for your pet, who may mistake this for a toy. Instead, get them toys that they can gnaw on all day long! You can also get food dispensers that require them to think hard and solve puzzles to get food. Train them:

 This may sound very obvious and straightforward, but many people don’t know that you can train a pet on this matter. You can use training to teach pets things such as keeping a dog from ripping up furniture and a cat from scattering your house. Similarly, you can also train any pet to stay away from electrical cords.
