How do you pack your vape for a plane?

Travelling with a vape may seem like an easy task, at first. But in reality, it can be more complicated than you think, especially when you’re thinking about how to pack your vape for a plane!

Airline policies and restrictions vary from one airline to another, not to mention the different types of vapes that are available on the market today. This article will take a closer look at what you need to know before packing up your vaping gear for travel, specifically when you’re travelling with a vape on a plane.

It’s important to also keep in mind your destination country’s laws regarding electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) when packing for your trip.

How to pack up your e-cigarette for the flight

The general rule is that you can take your vape with you as carry-on baggage. We do advise you to always check your airline’s current policies.

The best way to pack your vape for travel is to follow these steps:

1) Make sure all your components are securely in place. Make sure the battery is charged to about 50% or more, and make sure your vape tank is completely airtight.

2) Remove any e-liquid from the tank, if you have a bottom fill tank then you can either remove the tank completely by unscrewing it from the base of the battery or just remove the coil from where it screws into the tank itself.

3) Disassemble your components and keep them in an empty compartment in your carry-on bag. You may want to use several containers so that nothing gets crushed or damaged by other items inside your bag while travelling.

4) Make sure the battery is completely switched off. A battery bag may be a good idea to keep your battery safe while in transit.

Pack up your e-liquid for travel

If you’re travelling by air then some extra steps need to be taken when packing your e-liquid. As part of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations, all fluids and gels must be stored in containers that are 3 ounces (100mL) or less.

When choosing an e-juice container for travel it’s best to go with small bottles made from soft plastic so they are less likely to break open if they are squeezed. It’s also a good idea to keep your e-juice bottles and other components in individual containers so they don’t break together and potentially cause a mess.

It’s important to take note of the 3-1-1 rule when packing your e-liquid for travel. This means that each container should only hold no more than 100mL or 3 ounces, as well as all sealed containers as a whole can only be 3 ounces or less.

In terms of the number of containers, you can carry on 1 quart-sized bag holding up to 1 litre or 1000 mL combined. If you’re going with plastic bottles instead of glass, then make sure they are soft plastic.

Where is vaping permitted?

Don’t vape on the plane! If caught, it could result in a fine or even being kicked off the flight. This is because vapour clouds are seen as potential fire hazards and they cause problems for other passengers who may have respiratory issues etc.

Vaping is generally acceptable in designated smoking areas; some airports have banned vaping. Please check with the individual airports for their policies. Don’t forget to check up-to-date laws before bringing your e-cigarette into public places or airports where they may have recently banned them because there is no telling if new regulations will come out while you’re away from home.

Vaping in certain countries will be illegal, so you should know that before packing your vape. A good example of this is Australia where e-cigarettes are not legal and can only be used in designated smoking areas if at all.

Remember, e-cigarettes and other vaping devices are still very much new products on the market and as such may change slightly depending on what type of device you have and which country you’re visiting etc. If you want to learn more about vaping while travelling, then we recommend looking up specific regulations for your destination country or state.

To summarise

There are some differences to consider when packing your custom vape boxes for travel. The way you pack it depends on the airline you’re travelling with. It’s important to know what you can and can’t do in various countries, so it’s important to be aware of the differences in smoking rules.

If you’re considering packing your vape in your carry-on bag, you’ll need to take a look at the locations of the battery and tanks. If they are located in an area where they can be switched on, then it is best to keep them packed separately from each other so that if one were to turn on the other wouldn’t automatically switch on with it.

There’s also vape travel accessories you might want to consider when heading for a holiday or trip away. Things like cases and protective sleeves will help your vape stay safe when it is not in use.
