Face Cleansers & Scrubs are often advertised to bring out the needed glow, especially now that almost every artist and influencers try to promote their skincare routine. The more they appear on social media, the more it enchants the consumers to do the same and apply the same products in themselves.

For example, to achieve your skin’s full glow, you need to introduce yourself to exfoliation. But how many times should you exfoliate your face?

Sometimes the cleanser does not work alone. It will need to have some help from other cleaning tools such as your exfoliators and other products. While thinking of buying your exfoliator, you may ask how often you should use it. Should you go for it daily or weekly?

If you’re trying out if the exfoliator will work for you, it is suitable to use once a week in the beginning.

But some researchers found that doing it once isn’t enough. Exfoliating daily is too much. So how are you supposed to do it? The answer is, you should do it two to three times a week.

Why Do I Have To Exfoliate My Face Two to Three Times a Week?

The answer lies in the type of your exfoliator. Exfoliators have two types, which are physical exfoliators and chemical exfoliators.

Physical Exfoliators (Scrubs and the Likes)

Physical exfoliators are the exfoliators who use scrubs to get rid of the dead skin cells. While it can be highly satisfying to feel fresh after cleaning it out, some people scrub their face way too harshly.

Chemical (Cleansers and the Likes)

Chemical exfoliators, on the other hand, contain acids that wash away the dead skin cells. The common acids that you may see in it are glycolic, lactic, and beta hydroxy acids.

For users with sensitive skin, dermatologists suggest using one that comes in with salicylic acid or maybe a serum

And suppose they don’t want any of the mentioned options. In that case, they can also try the peel-off mask that includes AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) or BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids), which are acids coming from sugary fruits that can effectively remove the dead skin cells.

For starters, dermatologists suggest the beauty of starting with facial cleansers first before moving into physical ones or scrubs.

It gives you just the right cleanse your face needs, but it is not as abrasive as the physical ones. You can pick one from many types like face serums, wash-off peels, cleansers, and even moisturizers.

Unlike chemical exfoliators, physical exfoliators use scrubs, loofahs, sponges, and mitts. Aside from that,  other users also try to purchase the new tool, which is the blades that can scrape off the dead skin cells.

But if you want to have an exfoliating treatment that comes from the professionals, they are using Dermaplaning,  HydraFacials, microdermabrasion, and many more.

Takeaway

Taking care of your skin is essential as it provides the protection we need from the outside factors. However, even though our favorite artists and influencers advertise many products, it is not one-fits-all like how they exfoliate their skins.

Exfoliating the skin should be done two to three times a week. By doing so, your skin will lose all the dead skin cells and still give you the glow you want to achieve.
