6 of the Best Florida Beaches To Visit On Vacation

Florida is a prime area for vacations, especially if you’re a lover of the beach. However, the sheer amount of beaches the state has to offer can make planning difficult. If you’re unsure about where to go, here are six of the best Florida beaches to visit on vacation.

  1. Clearwater Beach

If you’re planning a Florida beach trip, Clearwater Beach is an essential stop. For one thing, the area is tailored to tourists. While this does mean that the beach is saturated with newcomers, it also has a large variety of activities to enjoy. You can visit a plethora of restaurants, bring your kids to playgrounds with inflated slides and even rent a jet ski. If you’re up to it, you can also try parasailing! Be sure to check out the area’s many hotels, such as Island Cay at Clearwater Beach. If you decide to give this beach a try, it’s important to arrive early. The beach, especially the main portion, can get crowded very quickly.

  1. Miami Beach

Miami Beach is another essential beach to visit in Florida. Similar to Clearwater Beach, it’s definitely a tourist area. However, if you’re looking for the full Miami experience, you’ll certainly get it there. If you own rollerskates or a skateboard, be sure to do some skating near the sand. This allows you to get a scenic view while enjoying some exercise. No matter what you do, wear a lot of sunscreen. The Miami sun can be brutal, especially in the summer.

  1. Honeymoon Island

Honeymoon Island provides a far different experience than the previous two beaches on this list. In terms of size, Honeymoon Island State Park is fairly small. However, it provides an escape from loud noises and tourists. Therefore, it’s a great option if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. If you decide to visit Honeymoon Island, be sure to bring your own food. There are very few places to eat on the island, particularly if you have dietary restrictions.

  1. Anna Maria

Anna Maria Island is a lovely middle ground between tourist-filled beaches and quiet spots. While it may not be as big as Clearwater Beach, Anna Maria has a thriving shopping area, as well as adorable hotels and cottages to stay in. If you love art, this is definitely the place for you. There are several galleries that feature local artists, many of which have reasonable prices. You’ll also find restaurants owned by locals, allowing you to have a purely Floridian experience. Finally, there’s a museum for history lovers and cottage enthusiasts.

  1. Naples Beach

If you’re looking for a picturesque spot, look no further than Naples Beach. This area boasts white sand and crystal clear waters. Similar to Honeymoon Island, Naples Beach caters to locals instead of tourists. Because of this, there are quiet areas but limited shopping. Naples is also a popular spot for fishing. There’s a long and sometimes crowded pier on the beach where fishers can set up camp. If you’re a lover of sunsets, you’ll definitely want to sit at the pier and watch the sun go down.

  1. Venice Beach

Venice Beach is a great spot for animal lovers and history enthusiasts alike. This spot is a great place to be if you want to see some dolphins, as well as exotic birds. If you visit between May and October, you may even be able to catch some sea turtles! Venice Beach is also home to an iconic sail-style pavilion and picnic areas. While the beach isn’t very large, it’s a great spot for relaxation and sunbathing.

While choosing a beach can be difficult, it’s hard to go wrong in Florida. Simply decide what atmosphere you’d like to experience and go from there!
