The bedroom is an intimate arena where you will open yourself up to other people. Whether you’re in a long-term relationship or just looking for some fun, you want to feel confident and sexy at all times. It improves the overall experience for yourself and anyone else involved.
Unfortunately, a lot of women struggle to find confidence in the bedroom. It’s completely natural – society has convinced us that a specific body type is “beautiful”. If we don’t conform to that body type, it’s hard to look in the mirror and feel good about how you look. Things are even harder in a bedroom set as you tend to not be wearing many or any clothes!
So, what can you do to feel more confident in this intimate setting? Here are a few tips you will find extremely useful:
Try the mirror exercise
The mirror exercise is something I saw in a Netflix documentary series all about Pleasure. It’s a simple concept: look in the mirror at your body and point out everything you like. Yes, this will be hard for you as you only notice the bad things. But, choose anything that you look at and think looks good – it can be your eyelashes, eyebrows, hair, a freckle on your cheek; anything. Day by day, you do the same thing but add to your list. It teaches you to start loving your body instead of focusing on the things you hate. You’ll be amazed at what this does for you in the long run!
Wear something that makes you feel more comfortable
You may think that you have to wear a really skimpy set of underwear in the bedroom. In reality, you don’t have to do this at all. In fact, you don’t even need to be naked. There are loads of sexy items of lingerie from brands like Intimate Apparel that offer more coverage. You don’t need to have all of your body on show. As a result, you feel more confident because you cover up the parts that you’re perhaps not ready to show to someone else. Gradually, as you gain confidence and feel more beautiful, you might open up to wearing more revealing items in the bedroom.
Do whatever gives you a beauty boost
A lot of us instantly feel better about ourselves and the way we look after doing certain things. For some, it can be as simple as taking a long shower and feeling clean. You step out of the shower all refreshed – it’s empowering and can genuinely make you feel more confident. Do this before going on a date or flirting with your partner in the bedroom. For others, doing your makeup might be what gives you a boost – or wearing a particular outfit. Figure out what works for you, and do it before you enter the bedroom.
It can be really hard to feel confident when you’re in the bedroom with someone else. However, with these three tips, you can take small steps towards a happier you. You’ll feel more beautiful and comfortable in your skin, which makes this intimate time a lot better for you!
