Love to make people laugh, got punchlines for days and want to pursue a career in comedy?

Anyone can easily become a comedian, but pursuing this career full-time will take hard work, persistence, and a never-give-up attitude.

Sometime within your career, you will experience an awful or awkward show, but that doesn’t mean you should give up.

Although acting classes are targeted to help actors and actresses become better at their craft, acting classes could help you be more versatile. 

Acting classes could also teach you how to project your voice better, use different facial expressions, and practice different techniques so you can really get your audience engaged in your stand up.

Improv classes will also help you develop and polish your skills.

Attend Comedy Shows

One way to enhance your skills is to watch other comedians in action. Watch stand up comedy live or on TV. 

Watch how other comedians deliver their punchlines. Study how they perform, what makes their audience laugh, and what makes their performance unique.

After attending a show, practice in front of a mirror and analyze your own performance. See what you can do better. Then, practice in front a friend’s, family and other people you can trust to give you constructive feedback.

Experience different types of comedy and different comedians. Perhaps you enjoy a specific type of comedy. Try something different and get out of your comfort zone. This will help you become more versatile in your performance.

Hire An Agent

If you’re having issues booking shows, you can always hire an agent. Hiring an agent is also beneficial because they can direct your career and make suggestions for ways you can improve your skills, audience engagement, and other specs of becoming the best comedian you can be.
