6 watches you should buy in 2022

Luxury watches are big business. According to Forbes, the wristwatch market is worth $60 billion, of which $11 billion is made up of luxury watches. Within this segment, Rolex is the biggest player by far. The Swiss watchmaker controls over half of the market, selling 5 million watches per year at an average of $8,550.

This market is expected to recover from a dip in 2017; according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FHS), global sales will grow 4% in 2018 and 5% in 2019 before settling at 3% annual growth for 2020.

What does this mean for consumers? If you’re looking to buy a premium timepiece, now is a good time to do so. However, it’s important that you don’t just buy any old watch — you’ll want to pick something with some lasting appeal. Below are five watches you should consider buying in 2022:

  • Rolex Submariner

One of the most iconic luxury watches on the market today. The Rolex Submariner traces its roots back to 1953. Designed for divers, it was created with a distinctive “crown guard” protecting against knocks from underwater rocks and coral reefs.

  • Cartier watches

Cartier watches at Trilogy Jewellers are always in fashion. The luxurious, classic design of the Cartier watches and their different sizes to choose from make them perfect for any occasion or event. If you are looking for an exquisite watch that will last you a lifetime, then this is the brand for you.

  • Breguet: Breguet Classique 5967

The Classique 5967 is the newest version of the Classique collection. It’s an elegant dress watch with a guilloche dial available in rose gold or white gold. It also includes a date indicator at 6 o’clock and features the brand’s signature Breguet hands. The watch is perfect for casual and formal occasions and costs $9,800 USD on pre-order.

  • Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX7 Chronograph Watch

JLC is a brand that has been known for its watchmaking craftsmanship since 1833, and it looks like they’re continuing that legacy with their newest release. This watch boasts state-of-the-art technology with a quartz movement and a calf leather strap. It also features an AMVOX7 Chronograph complication and a very unique black and blue colorway. The AMVOX7 is set to make its debut at SIHH 2017 in Geneva.

  • Panerai OP XXIII

Panerai has just introduced the new collection of its historical models with the updated OP XXIII case, slimmer than the previous models. Made in three different sizes, this case provides a larger diameter of 55mm.

The new OP XXIII collection will be available in steel and rose gold cases, matching blue dials for steel cases and red for the rose gold one. The new model features a three-handed automatic movement with hours and minutes display at 3 o’clock and a small seconds function at 9 o’clock.

  • Omega Speedmaster
