By far the 70s trend that’s been the biggest hit of the summer has been my favourite, I’ll show you how to get that nostalgic vintage look (whilst looking very windswept) without going back in time.

Think Almost Famous with Penny Lane, she’s my style idol and epitomises all the fabulous things about the 70s, it’s the era I wish I lived in so badly. I think it’s wonderful now that in the modern day we can pick and choose our blasts from the past and mix up everyday outfits with nostalgic throwbacks.
To start everything off is a coat from StyleMoi with a wide lapel faux shearling collar, you’ve seen it at Liverpool Sound City and through my adventures in the Northern Quarter. It’s so easy to style with a cute swing dress or flares.
It wouldn’t be Boho-chic without a pair of John Lennon-esque round sunglasses. These vintage gold framed sunglasses are from LCR Vintage, their site is full of trinkets and nostalgic patterned dresses, definitely worth a look-see!
Scarves, ties and bows have been everywhere, this pre-made tie on bow has this delightful paisley pattern. Dawson D Rose do collars, jackets and tops and this Paisley Vintage Bow perfects a nostalgic look adding cuteness as well as nailing a major trend for A/W’16
Lets talk through the major shoe trend of both the 1970s and of today. Wooden platforms. Just take a moment to admire how gorgeous they are. Possibly my most treasured shoes, they’re just perfect. I got them from Selfridges in Manchester. They’ve just invested £3 million into their brand spanking new shoe department and its a bit of heaven, you’ll see more of that real soon from their opening I was gifted some Carvela Kurt Geigers, one of my most favourite designers of all times. The tan colour against the studs is definitely the go-to shoe for this season, and the sturdy wooden platforms shows the craftsmanship and quality behind the structure!
How have you been doing the 70s trend?
