The August bank holiday tails off all the antics throughout the sunshine and what better way each year than to go to Leeds Festival, every alternative persons dream.
With crazy lineups mixing up old revivals with new talent there’s so much happening so I’ll walk you through my day one of good ol’ Bramham Park.
LOCATION: BRANHAM PARK, LEEDS, WEST YORKSHIRE, UK
After getting to the site the day before, not really having to explore the site as Leeds Number One fan, the site is always the same each year. We set out to see some friends camped in orange for a lush night of campfires and chills but when we woke up to day one of Leeds Festival it felt sensational to get a brilliant nights sleep in Guest.
The sunshine was in full swing, with the gates piling up for the first acts our day started slow and steady as our favourites were to come at night.
I sported a colourful few ensembles, having switched things up after things got a tad hot under the collar. My first colourful, bright and vibrant, thanks to my Lazy Oafs shirt and Fashion Pills shorts. If there’s one thing I bring is the colourful back to festivals.
My second was my classic beaded dress from Nasty Gal and trusty Long Tall Sally velvet kimono, dark florals are such an easy effortless way to do festival fashion.

Our first port of call was Glass Animals, having got there slightly late but they were incredible and definitely made the list of new acts to look into.
The next act was Jamie XX which was super surreal heading back into the world after this like walking out of a cinema during the day. I’ve waited so so long to finally see him and the dyamics that threw one song to another was effortless and simply incredible.
Super pleased to have met up with some golden oldies the lush Smedge & Paul ultimately my fave couple.
For the second time this year I was graced with Jamie T (see my thoughts on him at Benicassim!) and he rocked the crowd and rumbled the site with true indie rock anthems.
Straight after Jamie T, we headed back for a pit shop of pineapple chalice cocktail adventures and stocking up on glitter. After a nibble to eat, when in Leeds try the noodles – you seriously cannot go wrong when you need to soak up some energy quick to fuel your night.
We headed out earlier than intended (thank goodness for that too!) as they started up alot earlier than intended, how rock’n’roll to actually be punctual. After departing with half the group for Kendrick Lamar me, Sam and Paul headed down and got a seriously good spot in the crowd front-ish and middle for the ultimate revival of the weekend… The Libertines.
Somehow I ended up on the barrier and lost everyone (typical!) but couldn’t of got closer unless I got on stage and with such a fufilling feeling of turning around and seeing thousands of people hearing what you hear makes the hot and sweaty mess at the front all worthwhile.
Should I have to go into detail about how they slayed the night? Well it’s only natural they would anyway!
The favourites for me was What Katie Did, I felt that was the moment of the night for me. There was such passion and such engagement and The Libertines couldn’t of blown me away more frankly!
After main stage antics we headed back to the funfair for a drink around the campfire, chats and good ol’ Piccadilly Party and the Relentless Stage. It’s not Leeds without coming out of hibernation for a dance under the moon light.
