[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e all need a break from time to time, when life gets on top of us, stress feels like it’s following you around like a dark cloud over your head. I feel like these moments hit me, I need to plan a spa trip – some time with my boyfriend, or family just to get away from life’s troubles, even for a day. I headed to Suites Hotel & Spa for a stay complimentary of them to check out their incredible spa facilities and pamper myself. Suites Hotel & Spa is located in Knowlesy, within a quick Uber ride away from Liverpool City Centre bypassing some of the edgiest parts of the city. Eventually when I got to the gates, I felt like I could truly let my hair down – collapsing onto a squishy bed and taking in a huge sigh. I feel like I have clarity when I’m away, and it’s precisely what I required. I’ll be talking you through my adventures throughout the evening into a surprise spa day with my Mum.

Superior Suites
The one element that striked me to best an outstanding point about Suites Hotel & Spa is its catering to so many different uses. It’d be an ideal place for a business conference, a romantic trip away or simply a destination for a massage. Proven that in the name, that they only do suites (not rooms) I entered into my room on the second floor to a gorgeous contemporary setting split between two rooms, a living room and bedroom. I really dig rooms that are open plan and allow me to transcend from one space to another. I highly recommend trying out the superior suites, they’re gorgeous and so very cosy.
After getting ready and awaiting Paddy to arrive, I nipped downstairs to the lounge, where sweet attentive staff were always at hand and the best receptionists I’ve ever had the pleasure of chatting to.
Our spa experience was one like I’d never tried before, and seriously the highlight of my entire week. I surprised mum with booking in a massage, and rasul. It was her first ever spa treatment as she’s been a 5* mum her whole life, I felt it was massively deserved. I’ve however learnt since that I’ll need to make a mum and daughter spa day a re-occuring event as we ended up having a crazily fabulous time. I urge anyone to take their family to a spa day as a thank you. Whilst we’re only a matter of days away from Fathers Day, I can certainly see myself booking in for the ‘Just The Two Of Us’ package which includes;
- Full use of the Spa and Leisure Facilities
- Decléor Aromatherapy Body Massage or Ultimate Vitamin Glow Facial
- Rasul for 2
- Overnight stay in a standard suite
- 2 course Dinner
- Full English breakfast
- Lunch with bubbles for 2 in the spa bistro.
- Complimentary use of robe, towel and flip flops.
Starting off with one of the best massages I’ve ever had, moving onto the thermal suites for a relax dipping our feet in foot jacuzzi’s and taking all strain out of the day. We were eventually called up for our afternoon tea, with the choice of traditional afternoon tea (finger sandwiches, cakes and scones) or none traditional that includes mini burgers. Mum is a huge fan of afternoon tea so she opted for traditional, and as we toasted our beautiful day together, I was so thankful to have spent such fantastic quality time with my best friend. Finally finishing our spa adventure we tried the rasul together, leaving us super refreshed, cleansed and glowing before our departure back to hers for dinner. An overall brilliant experience to never be forgotten.
