TIPS FOR GLAMPING NEAR SEATTLE

Camping is a great way to get back to nature and explore your rugged side. With beautiful scenery all around you and some of the most stunning landscapes to be found anywhere in the US, the Pacific Northwest in general and Seattle, in particular, is the perfect place to pitch a tent and enjoy life under canvas.

But sometimes roughing it in a traditional campsite isn’t quite what you want. Enter ‘glamping’ – the luxurious and comfortable alternative to proper camping. You get the full wilderness experience, but at the end of the day you can retreat to a more comfortable bed and a rather more pampered experience all round.

So if you are looking for an exciting experience to do for a few days before heading off on one of the many popular Alaska cruises from Seattle, check out some of the best glamping options in Washington below!

A tipi on Bainbridge Island

Set amidst the charming surrounds of Sweetlife Farm on Bainbridge Island, this excellent glamping site was inspired by a trip to the Nez Perce tribal lands on the borders of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. The tipi itself is big enough to fit a queen-sized bed, two comfy rocking chairs, and a mini-fridge, and is thoughtfully and tastefully designed to complement its surroundings. The bathroom tent is open on one side to the forest, making for a truly unique mix of outdoorsiness and luxury.

A yurt on an alpaca ranch

Yurts are hugely popular on the glamping scene – there’s something quite special about a space without any corners! Located about an hour from the center of Seattle, the Paca Pride Guest Ranch boasts two yurts, 20 alpacas, and a llama named Mucho. The yurts themselves offer a seriously luxe camping experience, with wooden floors, bookshelves, tables, a space heater, and even a grill on the deck just outside the entrance.

A treehouse on Whidbey Island

Flying high atop a leafy cedar tree, the gorgeous octagonal structure that gives the Treehouse Retreat on Whidbey Island its name is a lovely if unusual spot to spend a few nights. The space is huge, at 250 square feet, and feels even bigger thanks to the amazing light that pours in through the huge windows and skylight. With a queen bed and a sofa bed, as well as a kitchenette and TV, this is almost too glam to be considered camping at all…!

A platform tent in a vineyard

For a truly pampered experience, it is hard to beat the safari-style platform tents at Alexandria Nicole Cellars. Not only do the tents themselves come with Persian rugs, hardwood floors, firepits, and exclusive bathrooms, but guests are all treated to a wine tasting experience with the winemakers before they hit the hay. It is hard to think of a better way to ‘rough it’ under canvas!

Glamping offers all the best bits of a traditional camping trip but without the inconvenience and lack of creature comforts. These Seattle glamping spots will allow you to explore your wild, natural side without compromising on the luxury elements of your vacation. Happy glamping!
