4 Beauty Tips For Date Night

When you’re in a relationship, it will start off in a very exciting way, but over time, things will get into much more of a routine. This is not necessarily a bad thing, and it’s entirely natural. However, if you want to make things a little more exciting again and change up that routine, having a regular – perhaps monthly – date night is ideal.

Date night gives you a chance to spend time together and really get to know one another again. You won’t have the pressure of work or kids or anything else – you can just focus on one another and having some fun together, which might not be something you get to do too often because life gets in the way.

Of course, if you’re having a date night, you should make the most of it and really dress up for the occasion. After all, when else do you get to wear nice clothes and spend a lot of time on your makeup and accessories? With that in mind, here are some useful beauty tips for date night.

Exfoliate

No matter what kind of makeup you want to wear or what style you might be aiming for, there is one thing you need to do first – you must exfoliate your skin. Even washing your skin twice a day isn’t enough (although it’s an excellent habit to get into, nonetheless); exfoliation is the key.

When you exfoliate your skin, you’ll remove all the dead skin cells and other pollutants that would otherwise sit on the surface of your skin. Once they are gone, your skin will be clean and clear, and it will look much healthier. Plus, you’ll reduce the risk of acne and infections if there is no (or very little) bacteria on your skin. This gives you the ideal base for your makeup.

Do Your Nails

When you are going out on your date night, there is a lot to think about, but one thing you shouldn’t forget is your nails. This is your chance to really go to town with them, especially if this is not something you do every day.

Current nail trends are shorter nails painted with bright colours and patterns, so stock up on nail supplies at NSI Nails and come up with some gorgeous designs before the big night out. You can search online for inspiration, or you can create something totally unique. All you need is your imagination and a steady hand, and you can make your nails look very special indeed. You might even want to base your entire outfit around your nails when you see how good they can look.

Wear A Calming Scent

It might sound strange, but even if you have been with your partner for decades, you might still get nervous when it comes to date night. This is especially true if you can’t remember the last time it was just the two of you, but even if you’re used to date night by now, you’ll still potentially get butterflies.

Although this can be a fun experience, you won’t want it to ruin the night, so it’s a good idea to wear a calming scent to help you relax. What that scent is will depend on what you find calming, but a good idea is to find something that brings back some fun and positive memories, perhaps of the time you first started dating your partner. Other calming scents include lavender, mint, chamomile, and bergamot. You don’t have to use a lot of perfume or oils, and only really need a few drops on your wrist or neck to have the best effect (too much could be off-putting and make you self-conscious).

Be Comfortable

It’s fun to go shopping for that stunning new dress or those incredibly high heels, and if you enjoy wearing those kinds of clothes, then it’s the right option for you. However, if you usually prefer to wear jeans and a t-shirt with trainers, going too far when it comes to the clothes you pick might make you uncomfortable, and you won’t be able to enjoy yourself.

You’ll still want to wear something lovely and smart for your date, but you don’t have to go all the way out of your comfort zone. Always put your comfort above anything else because if you’re not comfortable, you won’t be able to focus on the date, and you may not feel it was a success. Combining comfort with style is easy these days when there is so much choice in stores and online, so as long as you start looking for an outfit with enough time to spare, you’re sure to find exactly the right thing.
