Every year the Christmas markets come to town, in the last 5 years we’ve seen the increase in amazing presents available in major towns like London, Manchester, Liverpool where a wide variety of gifts can be purchased in the run up to christmas.
I love online shopping but always spend the last week or two sauntering around and picking a manageable bag or two of festive presents for close family and friends. I went to Manchesters market last year to browse the shops outside the Town Hall and grabbing a mug of mulled wine.
Deals like a cup of mulled wine priced super reasonable with a £1 deposit on a christmas mug makes it literally impossible to go for a quick browse and end up lost in a full day of exploring the stalls, eating yummy hearty food and getting excited for christmas seeing Santa sitting on top of the town hall.
The christmas markets have been extending so even the smallest towns in the UK now have their version of the markets with all starting roughly around the end of November til right on the door step of Christmas Eve,
I love the thrill of getting everything done early, and enjoying my last few days sauntering around the markets picking up a bag or two of stocking fillers or goodies. These presents always feel a lot more special as most of them aren’t found anywhere else and you end up engaging into a full days experience trying out food and becoming a part of something amazing around the festive season which in my opinion beats online shopping any day.
So please support your local markets and see what your town has to offer you this christmas!
