This weekend kicked off festival season, my favourite time of the year, see my adventures at Liverpool Sound City, from hanging outside The Vaccines Dressing Room to midnight tuctuc rides
We kicked off the first act at 7.10 for Circa Waves (you’ve gotta start with a local fave) getting into the spirit of everything, I was getting more and more excited. Me and Guin met up with our best turtleneck wearing fiend Jake Marley (see his reviews of each act over at at The Mersey Beat View and Get Into This so go check them out now!)
Next was Spector and although cold and a tad grim in the evening we all had an immense time, finally great to see them after many years! We literally dashed onto a tuctuc to see them and even though they had to restart Celestine they were phenomenal!
Next was Everything Everything which blew us all away with their gospel like vibe, filling us all with excitement and ecstasy, and from this we found ourselves chugging our drinks back and having a good time. This years line up was immense and whilst the day was only short the best was saved until last at around 10.30. We spent most of our evening backstage wandering about and hanging around the The Vaccines dressing room right next to the main stage so we could hear and see all the big headliners.

A fair amount of shops and brands were eagerly awaiting the amazing people of Sound City to trial their drinks and foods, a fave was the Desperados tent where they were trying out a new flavour, what was even more enticing was the green screen and dressing up box of Fresh Prince Of Bel Air goodies and free photos! Festivals are memories and sometimes it’s nice to stop and take a moment with all your close ones amongst the fun to get a snap or two in, we obviously went potty with photos as per so prepare for picture overload!
During our time backstage we got caught up in The Vaccines hanging about chilling with the rest of the bands, and couldn’t help but notice the fab jackets they all have, just like Guin’s La Boca Lucifer jacket! As one of their biggest fans you know Justin spam is always gonna happen so enjoy the photos!
Overall they were sensational, like every other time I’ve seen them, blew me away and I got the best view, their latest album English Graffiti is coming out and definitely one to look out for!
