Is Tailored Clothing Designed by AI The Way In 2024?

I’m not too sure about you, but it feels like clothes are getting worse in quality these days. Or is it our choices that are deteriorating? With sustainability being the hot topic when we talk about fashion, modern women are now making better and more sustainable choices to keep up with the ever-changing world of fast fashion. We want fine quality and good ethics while staying up to date with our favorite brands, and I think there’s a fine compromise between the two: tailoring.

A recent change of heart and head has swayed my opinion into thinking that full customization should fulfill our dopamine dreams. Because no one knows yourself better than you, why shouldn’t you be picking your clothes exclusively just the way you intend them to be? Clothing just the way you like, for you. Sumissura offers the groundbreaking yet obvious solution to owning the capsule wardrobe that we’re craving, and shuns mass production in favor of personalized craftsmanship. Sumissura’s been the brand on my lips that I’m loving telling everyone about currently. Their bespoke, made-to-measure garments are the talk of the e-commerce world. As we’re cutting down on our conscious consumption, it’s becoming very clear to me that the simple answer could be to pick the outfits we need mindfully and design them to our needs.

In a world where the fashion industry forces people to fit into boxes, Sumissura exists to make people feel confident and secure by creating bespoke garments that reflect everybody’s uniqueness. So far in my experience, I’ve only had brilliant things to say about Sumissura; their personalization services are brilliant for flippant minds like myself who want to try out every combination of colors and fabrics before they commit. It’s a great time to size yourself up and understand how clothes fit you. Something I believe is beneficial when shopping is simply knowing where you’re at. I had immense amounts of fun designing myself this two-piece suit-short set. All the details, from the rounded lapels to the inner stitching that says my name, scream my personality, which in turn is probably my biggest ally in my confidence. Believe it or not, fashion can make you feel good, especially when you feel involved in the process. Clothes are supposed to fit you, not the other way around. The industry has been telling us its standards for too long, and by changing our mentality towards our wardrobe, we might see ourselves improving our quality of style over time.

One significant benefit of tailored clothing is sustainability. Fast fashion has been criticized for its role in overproduction, leading to enormous waste and environmental damage. By choosing tailored, made-to-measure garments, we can combat the overproduction problem. Tailoring ensures that each piece is made specifically for the individual, reducing the likelihood of overstock and waste. Sumissura, for instance, produces only what is needed, which is a much more sustainable practice compared to mass-producing items that might never be sold.

Furthermore, opting for high-quality, tailored garments means investing in pieces that last longer. This longevity directly contrasts with the throwaway culture of fast fashion, where clothes are often worn only a few times before being discarded. By investing in tailored clothing, we create a wardrobe that not only fits perfectly but also endures over time, reducing the need for constant replacements and minimizing environmental impact.

So for anyone who’s considered dabbling in the world of tailored pieces, allow yourself that opportunity to sustainably try something out that you’ll most likely love more than a one-click fast fashion item. I didn’t realize how much I’d love the pieces more knowing that I put my special mark on them.

If we consciously make better decisions, then we’ll always be impressed with the outcome, right? So the moral of the story is to be mindful and know what you want.

For me, picking the best city outfit was my goal in mind, and I got to fully see that vision come to life in a way that most shoppers aren’t adjusted to. Maybe I’d pick a variant of suits over my lifetime with only a fraction of the satisfaction. Buying sustainably seems to combat this overproduction problem and keeps both me and my wardrobe in check for many years to come. If you’d like to experience designing your own sustainable pieces, then do check out Sumissura (their story is amazing!).
